The intercooled Paxton setup (recently released) is $1000 more than the non-intercooled setup. So now that they have this setup, I called Paxton/Vortech to see what it would take to upgrade or buy an intercooler. They just put the pricing together today. $1750, gulllp. It's a water-to-air instead of an air-to-air. So for another $1750, plus an additional $500 install, then a retune and a dyno.... Sheesh. I'm a bit disappointed in how they went about this.

You can see/read about the two setups here. http://paxtonauto.com/

Keep in mind I'm not disappointed with the 436rwhp! The Predator tune puts it in the low 10's for A/F, so way rich and way safe. I was thinking if the cost wasn't outrageous, I'd add the intercooler to keep the inlet temps consistant. But even in 105 degrees I'm not feeling or hearing any issues. This system really puts out the power.

Hmm....

I understand exactly what you are saying.I too have the non-I/c Vortech kit and am very happy with the performance but you would think for those customers who want to upgrade down the road they would do some sort of a special deal.Fortunately for me since vortech is now using my car alot for their local shows they are going to upgrade my car to the aftercooled system at no cost to me, but otherwise I would end up saving up the $$ if I wanted to go your route too.Vortech claims an additional 30hp with the aftercooler which is nice but the car is fast as H**l now without it , so overall I am not sure if spending the extra $$ to get the cooler is really worth it for the everyday enthusiast

Looking at the Paxton site, it seems you also get the Novi 2200 included for the $1000. That is a great deal for the blower and the intercooler over the base kit.

I'd check around and see if one of the Paxton dealers could get the intercooler for less than $1750. I agree the list price directly from Paxton is high
