100mph is about 150ft/sec... so you're looking at 200-250ft ahead of him.

It'll kinda look like he pulled over and parked about 3/4 the way down the track

Back to Physics class for you!
You have to calculate feet per second and use average velocity (disregarding acceleration) for your best estimate.

:worship: That was an estimate based on acceleration. I didn't calculate anything. At the end of the 1/4, both cars are going 90-100mph, if one car crosses a whole second before the other they will be 150 ft ahead. It's not about calculations.

bottom line is your car is a mid 13 second car, his car is a high 14 second car

It won't be a race unless you blow 1-2 or 2-3

there is a big difference between a 13 second car and a 14 second car.

Dayum, that is almost a second and a half.

In drag racing terms, that is a geologic epoch. An aeon.

Time enough for empires to rise and fall, for continents to shift, mountains to crumble and oceans to dry up. Time enough for new species to evolve and pass into history. Time enough for--well, you should win handily.

He'll definitely be looking at your rear as you leave him. I promise you, he'll say "crap" as you're pulling away. I typically run on test and tune nights, and last week, I was invited to run on the slicks only night by the track manager. I ran against some 10 and 11 second cars. It's not a great feeling when someone is pulling away hard on you. I went to look at my timeslip and they only spanked me by a second or 2. It's very little time in reality, but alot at the track.
