About gear ratio 4.1

On a stock 2008 Mustamg Gt with an automatic transmision, with a 4.1 Gear Ratio ,at WOT would I get better accelaration from 0-60?
What about 60-120?
And when at the track?like a 1/8 run would I get better ETs?

It's mathmatically impossible not to get more acceleration, yes you will.
I installed my 4.10's 3 weeks ago and they are amazing do it!

I wouldn't be suprised if you knocked a half second off your 1/4 mile ET with 4.10 gears.

Ok I understand that 0-60 i get better acceleration, but with 3.31 gears I top out at 61mph with second gear,so with 4.1 I would have to take anoda gear to get there,so would the time it takes still get a benefit from it?

And what about at higher speeds, does it still get better acceleration? Or is it more like you get better at low speed but its worse at higher?

Faster overall acceleration. Through all speeds.

Without digging out old time slips this is what I can say.
With my 08 auto, with CAI, tunes, cat-back & 4.10's I whipped every Charger, Camaro, & Challenger at the track. Quick all the time. Then I put on a Roushcharger and drag radials. Do to the credit of the 4.10's (I'm thinking) I have better times than my buddies stock GT 500 and stock Roush's 427R's, 428R's, and even a 429R. I beat 5 Roush's one day. I was tickled, them not so much. Best time so far 12.3 @112mph. Just waiting for temp to cool down ( still in 90's) to try and better my times.
4.10's are the thing for drag racing, period...

Steve, did you notice any extra vibration or anything on the highway due to the driveshaft rpm increase? I'd kinda like to try the 410s, but would like to keep my 24mpg highway too - wonder if there is a taller 5th overdrive gearset available for cruise?

No vibration, just lost 2mpg highway driving. Car runs 500 rpm higher than stock. Around town, when I keep my foot out of it (rarely), I can get 15-16mpg. Same as sticker from factory.
Bottom line, Smiles per gallon, PRICELESS......

Not to hijack the thread but do you think I'd notice much of a difference if I swapped my 3.73s for 4.10s?

Not as much. I have 3.73 for highway mileage. And my first gear is a granny gear.. don't want to make my second gear a granny gear too lol

I wouldn't do it if I had 3.73's. Not that much differance. Unless money is no issue. Now 3.55's, yes I would think there would be enough change to be worth it.

I want more top end. I am currently running 3.55's. If I were to go to 4.10's would I be able to reach a higher top speed? (5th gear) Or should I go to 3.31's and reach a better top speed (4th gear)

From what I have read. A 2005-09 GT aero dynamics with stock power is well balanced for top speed with the 3.55s in 4th. According to this study, running 3.31s thrust equals drag leaving some rpms un accessable. Running 3.73s will rev out the engine before thrush equals drag. This in theory occures at about 148 mph on a standard day on level pavment.
