Aeroforce Question

This is a question to anyone with Aeroforce Interceptor gauges. What display color did you go with and how is it holding up during the day. In another forum i read someone mention that the Blue/black was unreadable during the day but at night was ok. Reason i ask is because i have MyColor set up to blue and i am already tired of having the rest of my interior lights green as it does not match the gauges and i would hate to have another set of displays in another color but if i can not read the gauges during the day than it is a sacrifice i am willing to make.

I have the blue backlight with black lettering/#'s.

That's full on daylight at high noon. You can see them just fine. IF you wear polarized sunglasses, that's when you have an issue seeing them. Just as with ANY LCD display, polarized sunglasses make it difficult to read the screen. Not impossible though, you just adjust them until you can see them. Either rotating them in the mount or wearing non-polarized sunglasses works just fine. You can also go into the setup pages of the gauges and turn the brightness up, which helps tremendously with reading them in the day time.

I have the blue/black or black/blue (it's switchable) on a pillar mounted pod, and being a LCD it is not readable with polarized sunglasses. It is rather dim in bright light, too, but depending on your window tint level may be fine -- there are varying intensity levels but even the brightest is easily washed out. It is nice to have some color consistency, though. I'd probably go black/white or red if I were to buy a new one, definitely not green though. I don't like being green

I had a dual blue/black set-up on a SOS pillar pod and did not like the contrast during the day. However, my car usually has the top dropped, so the sun played a huge factor. I just swapped them out for the white/black and they are a lot more visible.

Well i am wondering how this will work out since i am planning on using them in an Autometer dash pod. The pod does have some over hang so it would be some what of a sun shield. I have heard a lot of people switching over to the white/black.

Just ordered the dual kit for my girlfriend's birthday (she races her 2007). She'd rather have car parts than jewelry...

I wish now that I would have gone with white/black. But even so, I still don't have too many issues seeing mine once I swapped to the blue background with black lettering and turned up the brightness.

And you don't have a ring on her finger yet?

LOL. Fact is we've both been burned before and are pacing it a bit. Two years strong so far, we'll see what comes. If it's time, it's time.

Either way, I'm curious to see how well these gauges work. Seem pretty cool...

I have the black letter/white background one mounted in a vent pod, and it is easily readable. The angle on the vent pod is good enough that I can read it with my polarized sunglasses, too!

I do a lot more driving in daylight, so I wanted the gauge to match the dash gauges. It's okay with me at night, too.
