And I thought $3.09 was bad for 87 less than 1/10 mile from my house. I live 10 minutes from the PA border where gas is usually $.10 cheaper.

the 94 octane i refered to here is sold at same price as the 93, also I'm in vancouver and there is alot of olympic construction goign on so sometimes access to gas stations are blocked off and they offer premium at regular price

There is a station just down the road from Watkins Glen International that sells race gas for $6.21 is the last price I saw the other day... I wonder if a stock bottom end would stand up to race gas? Or is my idea of the performance of race gas way off?

Even with the proper tuning it will not make much more power than 93 octane in a N/A engine, at least not one that was built and designed for 87. The compression just is not there. The more octane you run, the higher compression you can have which = more power. More compression = power, but you need higher octane to run the compression without detonation (spark knock, which is bad)
I used to drag race a 75 Mustang Chassis car with a 600CID Big Block. It used 116 octane race fuel, and had about 13.5:1 compression (if I recall right). Our engines have 9.8:1?? compression . If we had used 87 in the race engine it would have probably melted a few pistons.

It's available only in Guntersville, Alabama... So like I could drive there... Load up with gas and Dougs new 100 Race tune drive back home and fill and dump the 93 Race back in!
But it would be a heck of a ride back home!
