Question 93 to 92 octane. Do I need new tunes?

I just noticed yesterday when filling my tank that Wawa changed their premium from 93 to 92 octane. Should I contact Doug over @ Bama for different tunes? I would hate to change brands because there is a station close to my house and job.

Thanks.

I don't know, but I would say just go ahead and contact him. What can it hurt to just pick up the phone and ask?

Doesn't seem like there'd be a huge difference between 93 and 92, but I'm no tuning expert.

Also, you may want to retard the global timing a degree or 2 to prevent pinging.

Doug will take care of it for sure, but all you have to do is take a couple of degrees out of the global timing and you're good.

+1

I went from WI to CO and went up about 5K feet. They only sell 91 there and I ran my 93 tune less 2 degrees of global timing. If you run the car hard you will get detonation without making the timing change. If you run the car easy and not at WOT, you should be OK with 92 on a 93 tune, but who can keep a foot off the go pedal?
