Everyone is looking for ways to get a few more horses out of the 05GT. Ford Racing was supposed to offer a shorty header setup and a 91 octance tune. Has anyone done just the 91 octane tune yet? If so, what was the HP gain and cost?
Just curious. I might be the cheapest HP per dollar upgrade.

John

John - good question - was wondering about the people doing the CAI/SCT Tune and if that resulted in having to use 91 octane....

Am I reading that right, you only got 14rwhp from a 87 tune, intake, and HC trap removal.

Then if you tune to 91 and add the pulleys, it increases 11 rwhp to a total of 26rwhp.

Wild Stray, I bet you could feel that extra 25 HP. Did you get to see what the 1/4 et's dropped?

I can feel it mid range especially and that's where it needed the extra poop. I am in L.A. so I don't have access to a strip. When I finish the rest of my changes, I'll get it to a 1/4 mile track.

is there a reason not to run 91 normally? Maybe I'm just used to my 93 needing 91 octane.

The 05's are made to run on 87 octane. Don't need 91 unless you flash the computer for it or just like to spend the extra dough

You better believe you'd feel 25rwhp in an 05...that's almost 10% increase over stock...a VERY nice improvement for just a tune and easy bolt-ons!
