I dont think you realize how important the tuner is...?
With a MRT CAI a tune doesnt change the performance according to 5.0 & SF

I call ... obviously, 5.0 & SF has never driven a car with a tune by Doug (or Lidio or a couple others). :worship:

I'm not an expert but I can tell you the stock tune limits this engine severely. Revs/speed...a tune will bring the 3V closer to it's potential. "Wakes" it up a little. Get a tune.

I'd get a CAI and Tune. I know it's been mentioned before but the tune will make a difference as well as the CAI. Outdoorsman, I've heard great things about Bamachips tunes from Doug and will be going with his C&l intake with SCT 2 tuner soon. I think that will run you aroun $650.

don-if i do end up wanting to get a cai set up, i would just go with the MRT. less money, no tune needed, still 20 hp boost in performance.

that is a fallacy---k/n is the only cai that does not need a tune, besides a 20-30 HP boost, with a CAI you also get throttle lag disappearance, better fuel mileage, better exhaust note, etc......best way to spend $700--$450 for custom sct2 tune and $250 for JLTII intake color matched toyour exterior color

MRT does not need tune either. It is also the one that adds most HP without one, not KN.

There is another CAI option... The Airaid Intake System ($300.00) was designed to give you two choices when installed... You can keep the modular venturi tube (MVT) in place - NO custom tune required, or you can remove the MVT and add a custom tune program... The choice is yours... The nice thing about this CAI is that you don't have to spend the money for custom tuning right away... You can enjoy the extra 10+ rwhp immediately and then when you want a custom tune, all you have to do is remove the MVT (I recommend the SCT Xcalibrator2 93 tune)... You can then enjoy the extra 20-25 rwhp and all the other benefits that come with custom tuning....

Might I suggest a Saleen short throw shifter block. Installed mine today and it is saving me 200-300 bucks on having to by another brand of shifter. Absolutely awesome!!!
