I will be adding a poweradder along with a built motor very soon and have been doing a ton of research but I can not come up with a definite answer on what the fuel sytem needs to consist of to support 700+ daily driven rwhp. I spoke with MMR and Steeda directly as well as a few ford techs and everyones suggestions are different. I know Derek, Dave, and Justin have got to have this figured out so I am turning to you guys for the final and correct answer. This will be in the next few months so I will be doing the parts ordering fairly soon. Thanks guys and any specifics about the setup I will be running will try to remain a secret as long as I can

A secret I know what Justin is using I, as well as Bart from Billet Design (The one doing my turbo setup), are looking into the options. There's a couple on the table right now. I'm not too comfy with the whole BAP ordeal, but we'll see. Maybe as a insurance backup, but I don't want to rely on one. It's just something about an extra electrical component that bothers me. I've heard a few different accounts of failure of the KB BAP.

Run a second small fuel tank system that activates at a certain RPM or switch.I am running a 4 gallon tank with 800 HP fuel pump with a return.real simple.I run Nitrous so this works well in my case.Activates when system is armed.

There is no new ground breaking news on this front, the 03/04 cobra guys have been doing it for years now.

Do not be afraid of the BAP, most failures are installation related.
It is a very simple device. It is really no different then a power supply that you would find in your typical hi end car audio amplifier.

One viable option is a pair of FPDM's with two stock or aviator pumps. Alot of cobra guys are running it w/o incident. But for that Power level I would reccomend a fuel line and filter upgrade as well.

700rwhp+ requires the you go to a return style fuel system and therefore using a boost-a-pump would be kinda out of the picture. This will require the adjustment of the engine tuning as well.

What I would recommend is using an Aeromotive A1000 fuep pump along with -8 lines. I dont know if they have a fuel tank out yet for the 05's but you can modify yours with a sump.

IF I were to do something this heavily modded that would be the route I would go. Simply, proven, and the A1000 pump can handle 800hp+ easy.

Thanks Doug.

As Dave said, its not that I dont trust the KB BAP, I guess I just like the thought of a more permanent system. The aeromotive A1000 was suggested to me a couple times and that would work great except I thought that meant I would need to go to a fuel cell which by no means would fit under the car so it would end up in the trunk which I am not ready to lose if I can help it. I really wouldnt know where to begin on modifying the stock tank with a sump but would consider it . I know the cobra guys can achieve this power level fairly easy, so are they using a BAP with stock fuel line?

This thread was aimed at the 03/04 Cobra guys, but it does make one sit back and say: Hmmmmm. Is there a potential for '05 application here?

Keep in mind a turbo car will net more rwhp than a comparable s/c car with the same pump/pumps.
FWIW Our 05 GT made 540rwhp@6300rpm on two cobra pumps w/o a BAP, and makes power all the way to 6900rpm w/o any fuel delivery issues.

Dave and I are far from figuring this out, we will probably be a useful tool for what not to do by the time we run into our own problems. As for my fuel issues I will be starting low and going slow, low boost levels and upping the fuel system to handle each increase in boost as I change. Yes this will require more dyno and tuning time but it is good insurance for a tuner tard like myself.

I just want to learn about the options. I'm leaving it the hands of Bart to go the best route. He's already mentioned going to a return style fuel system. Most guys have the BAP as insurance.
