4.10s installed and track tested

Curious results at the track with the 4.10s - higher trap speed, but et stayed about the same. Might be that I have to get accustomed to them, 'cuz my 60's were nothing to write home about. Anyways, with the 275/50/17 M&H I did not have to shift into 4th. Crossed the line at about 6500rpm in third. Kind of unsettling to see that much red before the needle. A couple passes I shifted into 4th just to see the outcome... it slowed me down. Gets through 1st and 2nd real quick now.

as far as street performance: again, gets through 1st and 2nd real quick. I find myself in 4th gear a bit more on streets that I used to be in 3rd. And they're a bit louder than the 3.55s, noticably at 50+ mph. And a bit harder on gas mileage.

IMO, the 28" tires are too tall. With a 26" tire, you'll launch even better. When I had 26" DRs, I was in 4th gear by the 1/8-mi mark.

probably. I can only get out 1 or 2 more times this year, so it'll have to wait until spring.

I'm at about 78mph at 1/8. If I had an automatic that was set up to shift at 6000rpm it would be shifting into 4th right at about the 1/8 mark... according to the RPM vs. Speed spreadsheet that you drafted some time ago. However in the manual tranny I have about 12 more mph before hitting 6000 rpm. I still believe you're correct on the tire size, though. A 26 inch tire would put me in 4th well before the 1/4.... or I could just get some N2O or boost

Sounds to me like you are trapping at around 100mph. If that's the case, then you'd be at about 5500rpm in 4th gear with 26" tires... maybe a little higher, because your 60' times would likely be better.

you are bang on, my man. 100.xzy MPH. I'll have to see if I can borrow my Mustang buddy's MT ET Streets for a pass or two.

When I had my 4.10's I was either banging off the limiter or shifting right before the line in the 1/8th so I don't miss them. If my calc's are correct a 3.73 would get me just over the line without hitting the limiter or shifting into 4th, but I don't know that it would give me that much. Maybe bring my 60' down into the 1.9x range finally (best is 2.03 so far). I dunno. with gas as high as it is I just can't see killing my mpg Sat through Thurs for a lil Friday night fun. that's just me though.

Where do you have your shift points set?? And what diameter tire are you running?
