drag radials get the bfg's or the mt's or the m&h that way you can get the feel for them before you do the gears.

Tires You may not need a gear change so see how you can hook up with the gears you have I put gears 4:10s in mine and now have to go back to stock gears because I can't get hooked up and if they are spinin you ain't winin. I have Nitto 305/35/18 DRs on order and will run them on the street. You never said what your plan was. Not at all impressed with BFGs
Have not seen them on the rear of any winners yet.

Ok, go with the gears, it keeps you in the power band most of the time.

I was hot and cold on the gears and now I could not imagine it with out them. Ford should offer 4.10's on the GT

the best price I've seen on the gears is $169 at 50resto.com. Anyone seen better? for $30 more I could get 5.13s

Also looking for best price on M&H 275/50/17 drag radials.

thanks in advance

you won't drop your ET with just gears, you need the traction with them to hook up. Get the tires first, then gears. That way if you blow your differential you won't have to do gears twice

Fun on the street, but worthless (for drag racing idiots like me anyway) at the track without DR's.

Here is a related question. What would a good street tire be for a stock 18" rim with 4.10's be? I am really close to getting gears, but I want to make sure I can get wide enough tires on my wheels to hook.

I received a replacement credit card in the mail yesterday and just had to break it in - no better place than car parts, I say. Anyways, by a vote of 6:3 in favor of tires, I ordered a set of M&H drag radials - 275/50/17. Shipping TODAY! I love this place

OK, so besides a set of MT drag/street radials (for the track)what size street tires would you recommend for 17" rims w/4.10's? She is my daily driver too.

I've been running 275/50-17 Nitto 450 tires (on 17x9 wheels) for over a year. They have been pretty good street tires, especially when the car was N/A. However, I'll be switching to drag radials for the street pretty soon... the KB just overpowers the tires I have too much sometimes.

hard to find a 17" performance tire that's not real short. The Mustang wheel well looks oversized enough with the stock tires. I think the 275/50/17 would be good if you have a 9" rim. I was thinking of going that route on that on an 8" rim, but my insurance was paying for the tires and I couldn't get them. So I went with a 255/50/17 Bridgestone Potenza re750. I haven't driven them hard, but so far so good. Local track opens on Friday (weather permitting)
