I just took my auto back to the dealer because it started leaking at the front of the case and it was also making a turbine whining sound through the console area. They stated that the case was broken on the transmission and replaced the whole transmission. They also said that there was a problem with the clutches. My question is has anyone installed 4.10 gears with an automatic and then had transission problems. I only had 100 miles after the gear change before it happened. Other mods include ud pulleys, sct tuner, jlt cold air. I called SCT and they told me that the increased pressure for a firmer shift actually helps the transmission so I ruled that out. Please give me some feedback as I am considering going back to the stock gears. And it does have a slight gear whine on deacc. but it is tolerable. Thanks again.

Ouch sorry to hear that happen. Did the dealer give you grief or try to void the warranty because of your mods?

I had 4.10s put in mine 2 weeks ago. I have probably 600-700 miles on it since then, plus about 40 1/8-mi runs. No tranny problems (so far).

I put the factory induction back on and reflashed the computer so that I wouldnt be blamed for the problem even though they are not related. I just got it back today and have not seen any problems yet. This new transmission is not making the turbine sound that the other one was. Fingers crossed, thanks.
