What is actually the experienced difference when compared to stock gears?
I'm not really looking for much improved acceleration, however I plan to disable the top speed limiter (probably with SCT) and I need to see how fast it can really go. I guess the 4.10 should be better... or?

I have an auto with 4:10s. Acceleration is great which is the reason I changed. No need to raise the top speed limiter as I don't think it will get there with the 4:10s. You will have to go to dealer or purchase a Predator to reflash the computer to correct speedometer.

actually you will achieve a higher top speed with 4.10 gears because the car can overcome its wind resistance limit at 160 due to the fact that the car will be more in the powerband at around 5200 rpms than it would with higher gears which would be applying less power at that speed since the rpms would be lower.

going to a lower gear like a 4.30 or 4.56 would definately adversely affect top speed, but a good median 4.10 is perfect for this car!

if you want some 3.55's i have some take offs from my gt i will sell for 100 bucks.

best of luck!

3.55 is a waste, you will not feel a difference from 3.31. Get the 4.10s.

can some one post factual rpm differences at 80 mph in an auto cuz i know at 80mph my auto is at 2500 so how much more rpm would 3.55's, 3.73's, 3.90's and 4.10's add.

4.10's will put you up very close to 3000.

I'm putting my 3.31 back in this week.

I'll post 1/4 mile times next weekend with the stock gears vs. the 4.10.

At this point in time it's my opinion that to get quickness out of the car the engine is where to do it and not the rear end gear.

We'll see.
