I took my car (manual tranny) to the dyno for the first time this morning to get a baseline before I do anything else. My only mod at the time was installation of the SLP Loudmouth exhaust. I didn't think I would gain much from the exhaust but I was wrong. 300+ lb/ft torque from basically a muffler delete.
I'm going back in next week to get the SCT Xcalibrator and custom tune. My tuner thinks that it won't be much of a problem to get to 300+ HP from a tune and exhaust alone. I guess we'll see.
Here is the graph for my third pull which was my best. The temp was 51 degrees and was run on a dynojet. My first pull had the hydrocarbon trap in and I think it was something like 276/298. Pulling the trap definitely gave me a small bump.

Nice stock numbers. You're only 20 shy of 300 whp with almost no mods. Most of the restrictions in the exhaust system are from the cats forward, which is why catbacks/axle-backs/deletes are all netting very little (if any) hp gain. Even removing the HC trap is producing "gains" that are well within the margin of error (random) fluctuation between two given dyno pulls.
Face it, your car is a factory freak.
A good tune should indeed give you 15-20 more ponies. Add a CAI and you'll be looking at 25-35 extra horses.
Very cool B)

So how long have you had the SLP Loudmouth system under your car?
I was under the impression that once your cars cpu realizes the change in backpressure (from removing the mufflers) that you would lose power. Without a tune that is.
How is the sound of the new exhaust?

I have had the SLP on for 2 weeks so I assume that the computer would have compensated by now if it was going to.
The SLP is definitely LOUD. The tone is nice and deep though. I think it matches up to the 3V nicely. There is pretty serious drone around 2000 RPM and it just got louder after I removed the HC trap today. I don't mind the drone at all but if you are looking for a quiet ride then look elsewhere. I have no trouble setting off car alarms at my parking garage at work. B)
My tuner and the guys at the shop were kidding around with me that I would buy a Chevy exhaust but I think they came away impressed with the performance. Either that or my car is a factory freak. I will definitely post updated numbers after my tune on March 4th.

I am not worried about it being loud, that's what I am looking for. I was curious as to if the cpu would recognize the diff in back press. and throw a check engine light. Obviously it won't though, cool!
So when you made the switch, could you feel the power difference at all?
