2006 GT long tubes & midpipe
Hi, I have a 2006 mustang gt and I want to get long tube headers. There is a set of pypes long tube headers for sale that I want to buy. The problem is, I need a mid-pipe to go with them and don’t want to pay $600 for a new high flow midpipe. I want either a high flow catted h-pipe or off-road h-pipe that will fit with the pypes long tubes. Any idea what brand h-pipes would be compatible with these headers? - There is a JBA catted h-pipe for long tubes that I have found currently for sale, but not sure that it would match up with the pypes long tubes. Any suggestions or knowledge on this? Thanks

If your not sure if the JBA mid-pipe for long tubes will fit the pypes LT headers? Then I would suggest contacting Pypes performance exhaust directly to find out as to whether there may be a fitment issue with the JBA catted H for long tubes and also get their recommendation as to which mid-pipe would be most compatible for their LT headers, as they should know being as they are the manufacturer.

The OP also stated he doesn't want to pay $600.00 for a new high flow catted mid-pipe. Therefore, I would consider searching for a used Pypes high-flow catted mid-pipe that's for sale in addition to the set of Pypes LT headers that he mentioned is also interested in buying

I am not positive, but pretty sure headers and mid-pipes are brand-specific because the headers are slightly different lengths and the mid pipes need to match. So yes the Pypes is probably the best bet, maybe you can find one used but I think that is going to be a long shot. A muffler shop might be able to cut and weld to adapt different brands to each other but it depends on the details and I don't know any way to find out, other than buying the parts and then looking at the to see what is needed to put them together.
