2005 GT problems-do you have these?
#1
Hey I'm new to the forum and have read alot of posts...just wanted to see if anyone else is having the same problems w/ their 05 GT
I have a 05 Black Gt w/ about 3500 miles on it
problems:
1. dash vibrates and squeaks like crazy-mainly from the a/c vents and pass air bag
2. after a drive on the interstate, the vehicle will some times "buck" real hard when starting to accelerate off the exit ramp-- has happened at least 5 times so far
3. windows sometimes go down to far and bottom out in the door, but self correct after a few times
4. noisy transmission - 5spd
-just curious, i still need to take mine to the dealership to have it checked out, but the service engine light hasn't came on yet, and the problems w/ the engine bucking doesn't seem to happen everytime I drive on the interstate
Thanks
----
p.s. this is a pic of a mineral grey 05 mineral grey saleen at our local dealer
stage 1 = $45,000
-these cars look so much better in person....I wasn't a big fan until I saw this one up close....probably still not worth $45,000 though

I have none of the first three, I would definitely take the car in for those.
On the noisy trans, well, noisy is relative. It sounds basically just like the T3650 has in the last few years of Mustangs, so I don't think this is an issue, it's just a fact. Just get some exhaust!
Welcome to TMS by the way.

1 - Squeaks and rattles- Mine is quiet as a church mouse, should be checked
2 - Bucking - no clue - well one, my focus did that before the electric fuel pump recall - have heard of clogged tank vents on 05
3 - windows - may need 'recalibrating' procedure, is in owner's manual
4 - tranny noise - nature of beast, avoid 'granny shifting' drive it little harder...actually sounds good with positive control.

Yes: my vents seem to rattle a bit also. Expecially when cold as cabin gets warmer rattle stops. I shimed them a little with some "custom" bits of cardboard. Stoped 98% of it, good enough for me.

No problem 2005MustangGT! They tranny I would say is normal noises. Just put headers on and you won't hear it any more! The window and the "bucking" I would definetely talk to a Ford tech about that.IMO

The a-pillar panels on the drivers side rattle a bit so I am gonna fix that. Also the rear deck lid rattles a lot, especially when the stereo is cranked, which is to be expected, but, I'll take care of that as well.
Windows....posessed. Quite often do not roll up all the way so I have to recalibrate them.
The only time mine has bucked was when the traction control kicks in.
I have the 5spd manual tranny and have no noise other than when I shift into 3rd it is not very smooth.

Sometimes on a long trip I have the bucking problem. It happens when you are driving at high speeds (65-80mph) for a long time, and then you stop at a light or something, go down to idle, then when you go to take off in first gear, it does that "bucking" thing. It scared the H e L L out of me the first time it happened. My fiancee was with me, and she just thought that I was driving poorly. I really wonder what it is. It has only happened to me twice though. Weird...

I've had zero of the problems you mention in my 2005 Mustang GT however I did experience it not starting upon my attempt to start it today -which is a problem I remember seeing about a week ago on this forum. I put the clutch in and turned the key, it cranked for a few seconds and didnt start, I tried again and it was fine. I then turned it off and on a few more times to test, and all was fine - but what the heck, ya know? Anyway, good luck

I have none of those problems, however when the engine/exhaust are still cold, I hear a buzz/rattle from the back around 1800-2000 rpm. At first I thought is was the license plate. Then I checked the exhaust pipes to see if they accidentally make contact with any metallic part. That's not it either. I noticed the noise goes away after the engine and exhaust pipes warm up to normal temperature.
Has anyone else experienced that? If yes, what was the cause?
