Ok hears the deal, right now I own a Toyota Hilux Surf (4Runner), but next January, I may be able to get a very nice 1JZGTE Toyota Supra. And if I do, I can sell it in July when I leave for about $2,500.

So, lets say that all happens according to plan, what should I buy with that $2,500?

Should I buy forged internals and wait longer to save for a blower?

Or should I buy smaller things, like exhaust, cai, tuner, gears, wheels, springs, shifter ect....

I know, everyone will think its a bit early to start thinking about this, but thats just who I am.

Wait until the Supercharger comes out through Ford Racing and have them install it, made by Whipple according to the Ford Racing web site....

IMO, the 3V just can't handle enough boost to make the expense and complication of forced induction worthwhile. Replacing engine internals and paying for a turbo (if youre gonna spend the $ for forged internals, you might as well make the most of them by choosing a turbo instead of a supercharger) would give you 600-700 hp at the wheels (more than ANYone needs) and put you out like $8k.

Soo...I would get the mods Dustin listed, various other bold ons, some serious suspension peices, and eventually a ported head/cam package and actually be able to enjoy what you spent your money on. (Around 370rwhp, awesome handling, and it would only cost you $3-4k)

Depends on how you drive the car.

No reason having 600rwhp for a street car.

I'd get the blower w/o forged internals and stick around 450rwhp.

If your serious about the track, then forge the engine first then go from there.

It'll be a street car that will see the track often.

Since it will see the track often, I say:

4.10 gears, installed, $600
Good DR's on spare rims, $600
CAI with Xcal2, $600
Nitrous system $539, you can run the 100hp with just the tune (which you will get when you buy the xcal). Its also easy to install n20 yourself (its a no brainer)

That right there is a easy mid 12 combo.

Can the pistons hold up to N2o?

On the 100hp, no problem at all as long as you have the right tune. I have ran the 100hp setting more times then I can count. I didn't mention the 125 because then you need the HT0 plugs, a BAP, etc, which would put you above your budget. I currently run the 125, as well as many others on this forum.

Agree completely, although as a guy with an auto (me) the tri ax is not applicable.

I would say do the first three and then use what's left towards some wheels and tires, looks good and enhances handling and launch.

Except that the S/C is 2.5 times what he has to spend before labor.

Save it towards some kind of FI.

I went the bolt on route at first. Everytime I got something, it was like "Do I feel it? I feel something! No wait, I don't think I feel anything. Hrm, I think I feel it when it's cold outside." Etc.

I know it's hard, but put the 2.5k away and save for the blower. Get the Saleen one and install it yourself...will save a pretty penny.
