13.02@104mph Video. (3rd gear help?)
Sorry bad SQ and there's a monster railcar burnout out mid way through.
This is my first time at the track... This is also the 6th of 6 runs completed in about an hour and a half. So the car is definitely heatsoaked. I missed third with the Hurst shifter twice on this day... It seemed fine for the first run, but the others it seemed loose and hard to fully put in the third slot. I'm going to get underneath the car and tighten up the peices soon and hopefully that'll fix the problem. If not I'm thinking CHE brackets or even MGW...
60-ft was about a 1.87 on this run. And launched at about 4,400-4,500 rpms. There was some wheelspin, but that was good in this case with the 3:31 gears (other launches with less wheelspin yeilded 1.9s). 3rd gear sounded like it hit fuel cut off at around 5,700 rpms because I'm pretty sure I was running out of gas... lol.
I wasn't out there to cut a mean light, so don't gig me on that.

Any 60-ft tips or comments are welcome... more details are in the link on the right side of the page.

Some 4:10 gears would help. You could launch at 4500 with them and a bit of easing on the clutch. That with an aluminum d/s would help getting the power to the ground quicker.
Your sig says you have a sct xcal 2. What do you have your rev limiter set to? I would suggest setting it to 7000. That way with 6400 1st and 2nd gear shifts you can redline 3rd gear as you trap instead of needing that 3-4 shift.
2k... I have the rev limiter set to 6,500 right now... I'm can run through the traps in 3rd gear, but I hit fuel cut-off (or something) at the top of third, so instinct told me to shift into 4th to keep the car moving. I'm not quite sure where I'm shifting for the 1-2 shift, I didn't look down... I shift more by feel if the car is pulling through the rpm band or not.
I'm considering these limiters here... http://www.cheperformance.com/cartge...pid=208&cid=15
Anyone have any experience with these?

Sorry, I couldn't really find a Timeslip/Drag Racing category, and it ended up being a GT mod's type thread.
With the 3:31s I can trap in 3rd gear without raising the rev limiter anymore. With 4:10s I know I'd easily hit 12s, but I'll keep the 3:31s because I'll be adding FI later on. If I give the car a good cool down, I'll hit 12s with ease I'm pretty sure.
Anyone have any before/after experience with the torque limiters for the 3rd gear shift?

I had major problems with my hurst shifter binding under powershifting conditions. I can tell you that you won't have that problem with the mgw.

Gives me something else to try next time I hit the local 1320.
So are you saying crossing the line in 3rd gear with 4.10's is possible in the 1/4 mile? I've been afraid to hold 3rd gear with 4.10s. Limiter set to 6800 with my SCT II. I used to do just that (cross the 1/4 mile in 3rd) with my stock 3.55's and that was my only complaint about my switch to 4.10s. I love my 4.10's for street, autoX and road coarses but 1/4 mile kind of left me bummed due to shifting up to 4th.

Third gear was a problem for me too with the Hurst, but it DID improve some when I got a tubular kmember with the integrated motor mounts. But, shifts were still getting missed from time to time so I plunked down the cash for an MGW, and will hopefully get to the track next weekend or the weekend after next to try it. Right now I'm waiting on a metco driveshaft loop as my BMR loop kept smacking into the MGW shifter, at least where I have it sitting (at the middle set point)...we'll see.

thanks for the helpful replies guys, but I found the main problem I was having when I put my car up in the air yesterday... the front mount (the one closest to the front bumper) was backed out about a 1/2" causing the shifter to have too much play and jamming up 3rds slot at high rpm. Tightened it up and I can jam it pretty easily now. 3rd gear is still a little faulty (like John said), but I think that is just a Hurst defect from the factory on these shifters.
Would have had 12s today at Bremerton but it was rained out! I hate NW weather!!

There are several different rev limiters in the Spanish Oak processor..and raising one to 7K won't do a bit of good unless you raise ALL of them... and I don't think the handheld SCT's will alllow you to touch them all..
