I ran a 13.5.
Automatic convertible with shaker 1000.
(about as heavy a mustang as you can order)
Mods:
C&L Racer intake
Diablosport/ Hypertech tuners.... (I am playing with both)
4:10 FR gears
TB spacer
Custom heat shielding for intake to prohibit heat transfer.
Will gut my car this weekend:
Spare, jack, headrests, drain washer fluid, sub woofers, run to less than 1/4 tanks of gas...etc. To remove as much dead weight as possible.
Hopefully I can break into 13.2.

I already have a BamaTune 91 Torque tune with CAI and synthetic oil in the engine of my '07 auto. I took the spare tire and jack out to save a few pounds and replaced them with an electric pump and tire slime. Race weight with me is about 3750-3775lbs. I will get an accurate weight at the track. Would an off road H pipe and UDP's get me close to 12.9's-12.8's with the stock tires and good track conditions. Or would a stall convertor and drag tires and/or an aluminum driveshaft be a better bang for the buck. I want to keep it stock as possible. I am not interested in nitrous, long tubes, delete plates..ect. I might go with 3.73's at a later date. I hope to baseline my car next weekend at Beech Bend if the weather cooperates. My ultimate goal is 12.60's with tires. THANKS
I did 4 runs with my GT on 10/10/06 best of 4 runs:
13.491 sec at 102.47 mph
60' time 2.128 sec
And this was with everyone complaining that the track was in poor condition.

Check my sig below for times. A tune and CAI should get you in the 13.50's Now mind you I ran at Englishtown NJ which if I remember correctly is 300 or so feet above sea level.
I have since added UDP's and the GTA mufflers. I am shooting for 13.30's when the track opens.
I think it's going to take a set of gears and sticky tires to get into the 12's

I ran a 12.583 @ 107.09 last night with the modifications you see below, and with MT/ET 275/40/R17 Street Radials on stock 17" rims.
My first touch of the 12's was with the intake, tune, and full exhaust which was a 12.999 @ 105
GET THE CONVERTER, DRIVESHAFT, AND TIRES, it will do more for you than anything else.

When I do decide to spend some money I will probably go with a 3000 stall converter. Last test and tune is the 31st and as of now the extendend forecast is calling for 69 and sunny. It's 83 outside right at this moment.

Good write up on CJ Pony Parts getting their '05 into the 12's (12.84@108 mph on stock 235s) with minimal mods.
