2005 GT, 4.10 gear, automatic transmission, asst Diablo tunes, 235/55r17 Dunlop Snow tires, BP 92 Octane gas, half a tank.

best run, 4th run with the 93 octane performance tune from Diablo, traction control off:
r/t .391
60' 2.233
330 5.993
1/8 9.094
mph 78.49

My best r/t was .295 and that was on my 7th run.
Best 60' was posted above.

After that it seemed to me that the track just got slicker and slicker.

This week I'm getting new wheels and I'll put the stock tires back on, and I'm working with Dan at Dynosport on a Superchips tune to see how that does as the Diablo isn't giving us any gains.

My first run of the night (ever) was with the 87 tune and I did r/t .458, 60' 2.238, 330 6.007, 1/8 9.114 @ 78.71

Difference between the 87 tune and the 93 was .02 on the best runs.

I did back to back runs 93 perf with t/c off then on. Diff was .09 with the nod to having it off.

I put in the "factory hp" tune, which is supposed to be the factory tune with my changes, which were none, t/c off and got: r/t .760, 60' 2.270, 330 6.099, and 1/8 9.229 @ 78.32.

I tried a run with starting in 2nd gear and didn't do well, ran a 9.49 @ 77.95 with a 60' of 2.311. with the 4.10 I was pretty much spinning through 1st gear and part of 2nd even with the traction control on but obviously leaving it off gave me a slightly better time.

the difference was approx .3 best to worst on all runs with all tunes tried, with best going to 93 perf t/c off, and worst going to 93 perf 2nd gear start.

I'll be back next week hopefully with a better tune and the stock tires on 17x9 rims.

Chris

I originally posted this last night when the board was wonky, luckily I was still coherent enough to copy it into my clipboard and all I had to do was paste it in.

What RPM are you launching at? Have you tried to leave at just off idle? I have had my quickest/fastest times this way. I know you have an automatic and mine is a stick but with 4.10 gears your 1st gear should hook up better this way with street tires.

Those are darn good times and I'd be thrilled to see them myself.

I tried brake loading (is that the right term?) from 1000 up to 2000 and all that got me was massive wheel spin even on dry pavement.

My best run was just left foot brake/right foot ready to mash the gas. I think regular tires will make a good difference and hopefully I'll be able to try some different things this friday. It's tough to think "ok, i'm not just going to floor it this time, I'm going to even depress the pedal to the floor" when the lights go down. I "THINK" that if I can just get moving without spinning the tires and THEN have it WOT I would do a lot better. We'll see.

thanks for the advice
Chris
