1/4 and TCS

Wouldnt you have a more controlable takeoff with TCS on? Or do you loose alot of time by leaving it on when taking off at the line?

And do you guys drive on the highways with TCS on? On a nice day?

For me, it is a part of driving the car, wherever I am:
Get in. Close door. Put on belt [stupid bell]. Start car. Turn off TCS. Put it in first. Drive. It's become pretty much automatic.

The button is actually getting shiny from my finger tip pushing it everytime I get in the car.

And BTW, it will slow you down on the strip when it applies the brakes and retards the timing... Bogs the car down a bit.

+1... turn it off at the track. In fact, my track tune has it permanently disabled now.

Same thing here... if it isn't raining, TCS is off.

O/T: BTW, once I put the roll bar and harness in the car, the belt "bell" would drive me friggin nuts at the track (since I used the harness instead of the factory belt). Someone posted a method to disable the belt bell. I was skeptical, but incredibly it worked! No more annoying beep beep beep.
1) car off, all belts unbuckled, parking brake on
2) turn key to on position. you will see seat belt warning light light up red
3) after 1 min, light will go off, now you must buckle and then unbuckle seatbelt you want to disable warning for 9 times exactly and finish doing this within 50 seconds of the light going off
4) airbag light will go on for 3 seconds or so
5) after it goes off, buckle then unbuckle seatbelt again 1 time
6) light will flash, seatbelt warning disabled.

DynamicmustangGT, you talking about the seatbelt or the TC?

The only reason to need traction control is because the common masses out there do not pay attention to what they are doing while driving. It is a feature designed for insurance companies and lessor drivers. I think we would be better served if proper driving skills were learned and practiced rather than the band-aid we call TC.

My TC button is also getting shiney. It will probably be the first thing that really wears out on my car besides tires and brakes. The only reason I have not completely disabled it with a tune is because my wife may occasionally drive it and so might a shop jockey. No offence to women drivers or shop jockeys intended...

if TCS if off if you begin to slide or your tries start to spin, the brakes WONT be applies automaticly and the fuel WILL NOT be cut. so you can spin and slide all you want.

with me, if im getting on it and i hit a bump my tcs will click in. and totally own me. or if i throw it down into 3rd ont he freeway at 70 the TCS will kick in. so i turn it off only when i want to slide or jump on it.

Explain to me how that stupid "beep beep beep" will save my life?

For the record, I never drive anywhere without my seatbelt on. And nobody rides in my car without one either. I don't need a babysitter "beeper" to remind me to buckle up. Period... end of story.

My desire to kill the "beeper" was for when I'm drag racing. Since I'm strapped into a 5-point harness (see pics), I don't need or use the factory belt. And it seems like everytime I would be staging the car and trying to concentrate on the Christmas tree... that dam "beep beep beep" would start.

The directions for turning off the seat belt chime is in your owner's manual.
