06 auto not shifting right
My 06 is shifting real weird. If you get on it, it's fine, but if you are just driving around town 2nd and third and even into 4th is really screwed up. It's like the car isn't sure it wants to shift into 3rd and 4th. If it was a manual I'd describe it this way........it would be like going from 2nd gear directly to 5th.....it boggs down, only may car is doing this from 2nd to 3rd, and again to 4th. This is only under normal driving conditions.
I have Doug's tunes and I'm trying to get in touch with him (no luck so far). I think it's a matter of changing the shift points, but I'm not sure. Anyone else have this problem?

I talked to Doug today and he changed the shift paramaters and emailed me a new tune. Just tried it in the car and still have the same problem. Didn't happen after a long road trip. It's really boggs down bad from 1500-2000 rpm going between 25-40 mph and the exhaust drone is just nuts. Just completely bogs down unless I hammer it, then I get whiplash as it takes off like a rocket. Just spoke to Doug after testing the new tune. He said to first check the trans. fluid level. Doug said the new tune had a completely new shift paramater and if the problem continued it most likely won't be the tune. Since this problem has progressed and seems to get worse every time I drive it, I'm almost convinced it isn't the tune.
Rob,
Try to upload the tune again then once that is done disconnect the battery for about 30 minutes, these auto tranny's actually learn how we drive and shift it might just need to be reset.
I have noticed some problems going from Doug's performance tune to his race tune and back again. I had him set his Race tune to shift @ 3000 rpms so this is quite a bit different than the shift points on the performance tune they are more like stock.

I'll try that Rob. Doug did send me another tune, but the problem is still there. Just got back from my Ford dealer and it's not the tranny at all............I'm confused all to heck now. As most of you know the car is for sale and this problem has been noticable to every potential buyer. I gotta get this corrected quick!
Rob, not to take anything away from Doug- but try calling Brenspeed. They have four shop cars, three of them autos and they have alot of experience with '06+ auto cars. www.brenspeed.com
They may atleast be able to point you in the right direction....

My stock tune is for the 6lb pulley, once we went with the 12lb pulley and intercooled it the stock tune was pretty useless. However, I do see your point and would have done that immediately if it had been an option.
For those of you who saw my other thread, the car is sold. The buyer bought it as is and after doing a lot of checking around it appears the car really needs bigger injectors. The new owner is going to have it re-tuned and most likely install the new injectors........the injectors aren't causing the current problem. The tune is the current problem and can be fixed. The injectors will allow the car to break the 400 rwhp threshold that Doug and I couldn't seem to get past.

Thanks Rob. The car and it's new owner will be in Tulsa at the Mid America Shelby Meet this weekend. If you see it rollin around or if you see it at the show go up and meet the new owner. His name is David. He's a really good guy and a true Mustang fan. I'm pretty sure he's going to be a new regular here on TMS.
