05-08 Hurst Shifter Install

Hey guys, im going to be installing the HURST COMP. PLUS shifter soon and would like to know if it was a MUST to reuse the stock busings over the ones that HURST supplies with the shifter. Do the stock ones make a difference or something?? Please, any advice would help. Thanks.

First, to answer your question straight: NO. It is not mandatory to swap back the Hurst provided urethane bushings for the stock rubber ones.

However, I highly recommend to do the swap. When I installed mine, I found the swap so straightforward that I did not hesitate a second. Just feel both bushing types it's obvious to tell the difference. The urethane feel much tougher and less likely to absorb transmission vibrations and rattles. I have installed the stock rubber bushings on the Hurst since day one and the whole setup is as smooth and comfortable as stock.... only so much more fun & tight to shift Good luck with the install

Great looking shifter but I would stick with the supplied bushing but you could try it both ways and see what you like better.

I used the urethane bushings w/the shifter. Feels good and solid. No complaints.
