Which Would you buy?

I bought my Mach because . . .well I wanted a Mach.
I posted an answer a long time ago regarding my purchase decision, and I think it went something like this . .
I could have purchased either a '04 Cobra or Mach. Obviously the payments would have been a little higher in a Cobra, but not by much. I just fell in love with the Mach since the Concept Mach came out in 2002. To me the Mach is the ultimate Fox . .(1979-2004 Chassis . . term "Fox" used to describe the entire 3 generations of the old chassis). It has the most powerful engine with a solid axle. Yeah . . it's old school, not as sophisicated as the Cobra, not as fast, but to me it's just about the coolest factory Mustang of this generation.
That being said, and all things being equal I would have loved to have a '03-04 Cobra engine in my Mach, or at least stronger internals, but that can be changed! I wasn't concerned about it being the fastest, because no matter what you drive . . .someone is always faster.
I love them both, but the Mach tugged a little harder at my wallet and heart.
Oh yeah . . .the "shaker" is pretty cool as well.

I see where u r going, Greatt Descion, I want a 2004 Mach 1 in Azure Blue or Comp Orange and I would put a 03 cobra motor in it with the shaker scoop, that would be sick, and I hate the 03-04 cobras IRS suspension, you could call your car "Old School" but i love the solid axle, and I would only do 1 thing to a Mach and that would be swap out the wheels for the older style (Set back spokes) Mag 500 wheels and the cobra motor yet retaining the shaker

The answer is factory upgrades. The Mach 1 is the perfect fun car, a future classic, but leaves room for some after market goodies while the Cobra does not, even though it is not as flashy but its unique features and power makes it the top gun.

The Cobra has much more mod potential (if you are talking about HP). The internals of the Cobra engine are forged and built for power. The Mach 1 motor is limited in the amount of HP the internals will take. On the other hand, if mods to the internal engine are what you want to do, there is more to do to the Mach 1 engine.

The cobra is the better engine because you don't have to spend so much money on the bottom end. The cobra motor won't go to far past 1000rwhp. The manley rods are only rated for 1000rwhp. The Mach 1 motor is ok. I would rather have a Mach 1 with a cobra motor and a shaker.

Mach 1 for the same reasons as everyone else has already listed. Also I've never driven a 03-04 cobra, but I've driven a mach and oooooh baby! Sometimes you sit in the seat and although you don't get it that day you know you'll own one.

wwait.... dont the mach and the cobra both have the 4.6L $v? the only diff was that the cobra has a blower.... i guess im off :scratch: i coulda sworn....
anyway, i like the mach best. it makes good power, and IMO, it looks the best out of all the SN95s. Comp Orange baby!!
