The sti is a fast car BUT, Your must really love subarus in order to spend over $32000. It's just another lunch box import to me. IMO- the car lacks looks. On the cool factor. I give it a 2

Ok I have to get back in this since I posted the original commetn that started this, the brand new WRX STi has 300 HP the WRX STi WR1 has 320, the previous 03 and earlier STi have only 265 HP, this is the one I meant, sorry I wasnt specific, but I have also raced the new STi, some punk kid has a black one around here and thinks he is GOD (there is nothing but teenagers around here driving these things), anyway this was an even match, but it did come down to the driver and I took him off the line and held a car length on him the whole time, the one I orignally mentioned was a kill by over 3 car lengths, again another teen. The Z28s I mentioned, not sure which engine dont know much about cameros, but I do know that they were the newest models, the two that I was refering to and smoked them no prob. The best match I had was against an mid 90s modded Z28 and that was neck and neck, but I managed to edge it out off the line at first and then at top speed.

Where does the 320 horse one go? In Japan, the max hp allowed is 267 I believe.

^ Actually in Japan there was a "gentlemen's agreement" between manufacturers to limit the HP at 280. This is no longer in play however.

Do you live in the USA? If so the only WRX STI to reach these shores had 300hp.

That's true, how do you think people own Mustangs overseas, buy them here, pay to ship them, and any import duties.

Not going to play that game. The chances of him coming upon a STI in his 05 and knowing the diffrence are so slim its not worth discussing.
first off, some guy already posted that he ran a the mustang at 13.3 in the 1/4, The magazines posted a sti from any where at 13.2-13.5, that with a good driver, if the person behind the wheel of the sti doesnt know how to use his rpms to get a good launch he will get eaten alive by any 1999-2004 cobra or 2005 mustang gt, the only advantage they have is their launch

And you have driven both to attest to this?

Yes, they have a good launch and they are 300lbs lighter. Trust me, its easier to drive a STI to low 13's then a 05 mustang. It requires real skill to get the mustang there.
