As for it beating the M3... I highly doubt it.

I don't. Is it a E36 or E46? Dinan?

EDIT: Just saw your sig...my bad. E46 with SMG-II would come down to a driver's race imo.

My friends have matching E36 Dinan Stange 2(or 3...not sure...no turbo or supercharger)...and I can walk them.
E46 M3 SMG-II Coupe. No Dinan, but I'm modded with an GruppeM intake, Eisenmann Ti exhaust, H&R coilovers, 19" BBS LM wheels and SMG euro-spec software which allows for launch control.
so basically the computer drives the car...not you....overkill maybe.......hmmmmm......

In all fairness the SMG-II is the best you can get without driving a manual. It’s better then Ferrari’s F1 transmission.

The Audi DSG gearbox is better than the SMG-II.

Popular misconception but no its not an automatic... Its a clutch pedal-less manual modeled after transmissions used in Formula 1 race cars. It doesn't have a torque converter and it does have an internal clutch. Shifts are 0.80 milliseconds quick, faster than any human operated shift. You can still hit the rev-limiter and it rev matches on every downshift.
Okay, that's cool, so you are actually telling the car when to shift. I am familiar with that type of transmission.

I'd like to drive one of those someday...they sound sweet, probably never happen though <_< , unless they start coming on sub $40k vehicles anytime soon.

Yeah Right!

Some silly Chebby truck tried to show me who was boss today.......
We were at a redlight, and he kept inching up and bouncing.

Silly truck.
What is WITH the trucks and SUV's? Around here that's all that seem to want to either prove something or see the back end better.

I haven't had the opportunity arise to truly test the car against another, and since snow tires are still on, I'm not looking for anything till spring. Although, if the situation presents itself, who am I to disappoint them?

had some young punk in his parents celebrity trying to impress his girlfriend. However, the best is one that I posted earlier.

I was sitting at a red light. A Sonic Blue v6 pulled up next to me with dealer plates on it. The guy is looking at me and is reving his engine. I rolled down my window and while laughing I said "Do you really think a V6 is going to beat a modded GT" to which his girlfriend said "but the v6 is faster" and looked at her boyfriend with a confused look. I told them "good luck, the 2 of you were made for each other". The light turned green, he gave it some gas and I quickly showed him what the back end of a GT looks like as it fades off in the distance
omg i almost spit out mr Dr P

but that of course would be a sin, so i held it in. great story man

Ok, I had retard number 2 today. The best I could describe it is "redneck rice".

A 68' El Camino pulls up next to me at an offramp, and I hear the rev of a car with little or no exhaust, you know the sound, the sound of a sick tired engine with the mufflers gone to make it "sound" mean. He had at least 2 different wheels from the side I saw, one with a hubcap, the other a mis-sized slotted mag. It was primer gray, primer black, and some other colors that weren't primed yet. I think the base color was once a dark green.

Now for the driver, he was as much a wreck as the car! Greasy baseball hat, long stringy hair that looked like it hadn't been washed in a week. Multiple teeth missing!

We were at this offramp for quite awhile waiting for our lights to go green so we could move a couple of hundred feet. Just when it was getting close to go time he starts revving that sick sounding motor, blue smoke billowing out from underneath his car and leans out and starts saying something to me.

I can't hear a word he's saying as I'm rockin out to Tool on the Shaker, the sight of him alone took me back..... "Am I in the roadway version of 'Deliverance'" I wondered? I give a puzzled look and mouth 2 words that can't be repeated here and the light turned green I went normally along my way.

At the next light he squeezes up into an opposing lane 2 lanes over, he's obviously going to turn right....good, I don't want nothing to do with this freak. But as he's about to make his turn he attempts 1 last time to get my attention, revs his motor, dumps his clutch.....and stalls! Yes there is a GOD!

Hopefully someday he'll realize what a an idiot he looked like out there....probably not

Today I had a light green mid-90's cavalier pull up next to me at a red light. I glance over and you gota be kidding me, sure enough it has hood pins a 2 foot tall spoiler and all sorts of "high performance" stickers all over it, even on the freakin windshield!!! I have my windows down as it was a nice day out and I can barely hear what sounds like 4 gerbals trying to squeeze out of what sounded like maybe a cherry bomb or something?? And what's this 4 highschool kid's trying to "Hard look" me! Allright so when I was going to let it pass, is now going to turn into "schooling". I gave my gas pedal a hard rap, and you should have seen the look on thier stupid faces sorta like especially the driver who now realizes he made a bad mistake! O.K. fellas let's roll, I think's to myself. I'm timeing the light, got the R's to about 3500, light turns green, I drop the hammer!! Smoke plumes out, can't even see the little "toilet mint". I grabed second just right and chirped the tire's, where is he I ask?? Can't see him in the rear view... Power shifted to third and chirped'em again. I could have ate a cheeseburger at the next light waiting for them! Thier "hard looks" were long gone, replaced by perhap's a new found respect for the Muscle car...class is over, well for today anyhow!!

They are all weak challenges so far, a STi, a 350Z, a G35, several Z28s, a 745, and tonight an Anniversary Edition Mustang GT, all pieces of cake. The only good challenge I've had was that modded Z28. It seems like there is nothing that really matches up well against this GT evenly, they are either way slower or way faster. Haven't had anything faster try me yet though.

EDIT: They guy tonight in the Mustang tried the sneak up flyby manuever that the ricers have perfected on his third attempt. Seemed like he gave up finally as he caught up at the light I was waiting for him at and as he rolled by slowly, he gunned it, so I had to shut him down. It was a nice try though.
thats odd my brothers STI to date has smoked 5 05 gt's and it is stock... btw it runs a 13.2 at fontana STOCK, i havent seen a stock 05 gt run that yet. Oh well i am a mustang guy but dont get carried away with how fast your car is
