V6 or V8 in the 2005 Mustang
#2
If your going to be spending money a a new mustang, PLEASE go with the V8. What would it feel like pulling along side some pot shot acura and get dumped behind loud import exhaust??? The feel, the rumble, the power of a V8 is so much better in comparrison to the V6. IMO a V8 mustang will always feel funner than a V6. Plus in a couple of years, itll just be another V6. You go looking for a later edition mustang. How much more respect and humbleness does the V8 get??LOTS Do your self a favour, forget the little less gas mileage, forget the cheaper price, and get something you ownt regret. Im not saying youll regret getting a V6, and all due respect to those who have V6's, but in ten years, whos going to care about the V6's in comparison to the GT's V8's.
Anyways, do whatever you feel is right, but i think the V8 is the way to go.

If you are going to spend money on a mustang go with a V6. What would it feel like to try to out run an Acura only to find a blue meanie in the process with a radar gun. I have a V6 Mustang at the moment, I can't see it getting any funner in a V8. Yes V8's do get respect but how often are you going to use 300 bhp in normal driving. I guess you have to ask yourself if the extra $8000.00 is worth it, along with the traffic tickets, tires and insurance. I would go with the V6...210 bhp is plenty of power for normal street and highway driving.

Ooooh a super 6! I voted V8 by the way! Mostly because of the power, the availability to use that power if wanted and its the new Mustang! Previous years I would consider an 6 more but with the 05 I'd have to go with 8 or nothing!
Get the V8 if it is fiscally smart though. You never know what will happen a couple years down the road. I'm getting divorced and am now stuck with 2 car payments for 4 years. You just have to prepared for any thing. If you can barely handle GT payments now then you won't be able to handle them should a bad situation arise.

I voted V6 even though I'm not sure I'd got that route. One has to consider a couple things here, Insurance and gas. How much will you save in insurance over the life of your car loan when getting the 6, probably a couple thousand, assuming a long-term loan. Now cheaper car, cheaper insurance, if the power thing really becomes a sore spot one could always order the Cosworth heads for the 2.9L version of the V6 and strap a pair of turbos to it...

Buying the top of the line leaves no second guessing or regrets from the start. The only exception would be the color. It might mean $5K more now, but a lot less if you change your mind in 6 months.

I bougtt a V6 because of the following:
1) I'm only 18 and insurance is around $6000 a year with a GT
2) I drive from school to work and work to home everyday and gas mileage is very important
3) I got the coupe for 14k instead of the 20k for the GT
The GT was a lot more fun to drive during the test drive, but for now, I'll stick with my v6. In two years and I'm done with school, I'll buy a v8

the gas on the 6 is 1 mph better then the 8 so that cant be a factor, and the 5k differenve for a 05 v6 vs 05 gt is well worth it, if for nothing else you get a better tranny, suspention, foglights, and oh yeah a V8, all that for 5k is a bargin

I pulled a Dan today and took a 5-speed GT for a TD. By myself. On the open road. With no blue lights encounter... thankfully!
It was FAAAAAAAAAAAAAATASTIQUE!!!
I had lots of fun. Then I had to get in my POS Cobra and go home.
