great story. I just love all the people that pull up next to me and floor it. I don't bother trying and I just know they all tell their friends "I raced and beat a mustang today".

Remember, we "old" guys got to see what these cars were like when they rolled off the assembly line. If you got to see them in 64, rode in one, sat in one, or bought one, we have memories you youngsters can only dream about.

Hang in there, one day you will be telling your kids how you had a brand new 2005 mustang, and they will ask if you got a car that burned gas instead of hydrogen. Ha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's the only way a late 90's T/A would beat you is if you didn't even try. And hey, I like Trans Ams and Corvettes too... but I'd rather push a Ford than drive a GM. Anyway, I get a lot of challenges out there too. This car has a lot of hype. But, we definitely have the capability to back that hype up. With 5 or 6 minor mods, this '05 Mustang will be a 12 second car and be competing with earlier corvettes. Let them have their fun... but they better be ready to bring it.

T/A guys are funny.....i get revs and burnouts from almost everybody that pulls up next to me...it's crazy...i'd get like 9 mog if I accpeted all of the challenges I get....too bad you were in such a congested area....would have been nice to hand that mullethead a nice beatdown with your new GT....I had the pleasure of dusting a motorhead female in a WS6 T/A the other day...I think I was into 3rd while she was still billowing smoke in first....GOODBYE!!!!! hahaha...they just can;t hold their wad trying to outrun us....too funny....

[SIZE=7]Here we have a lot of tuners trying for a little action. The best thing I have done was to rev up my engine, give a little spin, THEN take off at a stead or slower pace. I can see them in thier mirrors, some confused others as if they just ran a 7 second quater. I know what I have under the hood. had that happen to me a few days ago with a lil punk 17 yr old in a Dodge Neon SRT-4 Turbo, wanting to race me down a rd with construction and heavy traffic. I just pretty much ignored him and he thinks that bu cutting me off aggressively and makin me go slow by almost rubbing him is gonna get me to go. Then when I got to an open stretch of rd with a green light, then I smoked his hiney!

When I went for a test drive I was so happy to see how much room there is in the trunk. My walker fit with no problem at all

 

School zones make the best drag strips. The flashing yellow caution light is almost like a staging tree at the track.

 

most people chicken out at 100 so races arent too fun unless you are in a big race/rice/muscle car area

 

Didn't you know, the f-body was such a fantastically great car that GM decided to stop making it! And its owner, an obvious genius far greater than all of our mental capabilities combined, was just letting you know of this.

You see, the story begins like this............

The GM Executives were in their fake-wood-panelled boardroom one day, sitting on their pleather/vinyl executive chairs, smoking cheap cigars.. When GM Exec # 1 said "Guys, the fbody is just TOO good! It's going straight to the history books!" Puzzled, GM Exec #2 asked, "But #1, I dont understand, going straight is about the only thing our beloved f-body does do well." Not one to be out-argued, Exec #1 retorted, "Straight, just like my friends at all the dragstrips, my fellow Executive. Besides, what's not to love? Those GM boys. I had some jerk in an f-body try to side swipe me the other night. I almost chased him down but then decided against it. That could have been very messy.

Perhaps the reason we old guys are still around is because we don't go racing in school zones.

We like to do our schooling where it counts, on the strip. Nothing like a time slip to prove a point. B)

 

It's always nice to read a good story that is also entertaining while obeying the law. Instead of the "Look at me! I'm an idiot and got a speeding ticket!"

 

I'm so old I can remember racing for pink slips, and 8 tracks were new!
