Shelby GT or Shelby GT500?

Consider the car as a whole. Consider. Straight-line performance is great, but what about cornering ability? The fact that the GT is actually a Shelby (right?) Consider... price. Availability. Consider that the GT looks better.

I'd take the GT 500, sell it and get 2 GTs

Tough decision to make, and not for the obvious reasons. Not a huge fan of either, but the GT500's power despite the weight and the better color selection tip the balance if I "had" to have one of the two. Rest assured the Shelby GT will also NOT be immune to markupitis or congenital limited availability as far as dealers are concerned. Otherwise, I'd just follow AFBLUE's lead - sell the GT500 but get 1 GT and mod the heck out of it with the remaining cash.

I didn't know they were being given away for free...

Well, with my money, I'd take the GT and add a SC.

The GT500 has more everything. More appeal, more power, more rare, the Shelby name etc etc. Get the GT500 and keep it forever. Eventually that Shelby name on it will mean something. In the mean time, a few very small barely noticable mods will create something to be feared by most on the street and strip.

I would say the Shelby GT, GT 500 has the uber-motor, but really is a bit too compromised in terms of weight and balance to get all that horsepower, which, in reality, is probably only marginally useable 99% of the time. I think the Shelby GT would be more fun more often, even if not quite as fast in a straight line. Sorta the difference between how fast a car goes and how well a car goes fast.

I like the Shelby GT, first of all its been to Las Vegas! and depending on the options offered could be very competitive with the GT500 I wonder if there will a turbo option? Shelby is building the CS6 that is turbo charged! depending on production numbers collectivity may be higher with Shelby GT
