I was coming home from the Star Wars premier last night at around 3 am and driving north on I-65 at about 80 mph. I hear this sweet rumble coming along side me and see a Mach1 coming and passing me in the left lane. I switch over to the left and start pacing him and notice the Mach 1 designation on the trunk. He takes off and I keep up with him. I pass him around 130 mph and we both back off. That is a sweet sounding car, especially at WOT going 100mph. BTW my car was rock stable at 130 no hood shake or any instability.

I was hoping whoever had the Mach1 was on this web site.
Sweet car man!

Was it an '03-'04 Mach or a '69-'70 Mach? Just curious. Either way, nice story.

It was an 03-04 mach1

It was sweet driving that fast in such a stable car. No one else was on the road btw, so it was definitely a rare event.

I was coming back up on the autobahn (I65 south of Nashville coming up from the Carmike theaters in Franklin)

The road was 4 lanes wide arrow straight and only two cars were on it myself and the mach1 and it was 3 am.

It was as safe as driving 130 mph on interstate can be.

Nice. Quick, someone check the mach1registry and see if anyone admits that an '05 passed them!

Good!! I assumed you had to be talking about South of town cause I hate doing 45 in my baby in construction central north of town. I've only attempted 130 on I840 between I40W and Hwy 100 ... being that the road isn't complete and its local traffic only... it normally wide open and empty.

edited because I can't spell...

it is a driver's race... but from a hole. my friend's 05GT hasn't beat me once. we've probably raced about 8 times. we are both stock. we have even traded cars.... from a roll... the mach pulls very hard... especially 3rd gear.... so im sorry i don't think so. it could be if the mach driver can't shift to save his life. but from personal experience it isn't. now my buddy is going to be installing the JMS package which I don't know if many of you know about it... but for $1,000 worth of bolt-ons... you can run 12.7 on streets with stock exhaust... that's impressive!! then it will be a different story!!

by the way.... how was the movie??? i'm going tomorrow!

I saw a '03-'04 Mach1 in Vegas last week and I have to say that it did sound really good. Not too loud, but definitely not too soft. I think I like the sound better than the last Cobras. Very nice.

the movie was great better than the last 3 but not as good as empire or star wars.

The gt had more grunt from 100-130 in 5th gear than the mach 1. I made up 2 car lengths and then passed him before we both backed off.

I had a passenger too, my girlfriend who enjoyed the ride just as much as I did.

That sounds like fun where is the stone river mall and what time does it start.

I'll have to check that out this summer.

I switched to mobil1 5w20 today 2600 miles. It's running real smoothly.

he sounded like he was still flooring it!

btw nice car and stripes, very subtle and classy.

i would love to do some mods but will probably wait until the warranty is out or i can afford to replace the motor out of pocket, whichever comes first.

You might hit those speeds at night in Tenn. but here in Ga. around Atlanta you really stand out to the cops. They live for night speeders. You can go almost as fast as you want in the daytime here 85 to 95 because everyone is doing it and they can't shut down 6 lanes and arrest everyone. Only don't try it at night they are out there and you don't have a chance.
