When you push the M button you'll get about 8mpg.

I think I see where u r coming from.. On a lower price point I had to choose a 330i or GT/CS and the used 330 was half the price. I think alot of the advice posted is good and it's not an easy decision. I chose my GT over a sport prem cwp 330 because i want the gt/cs. How about an M3 sedan?

I voted M5, but had the choice been 2011 GT500, i would have said that.
The Germans do a killer interior.

I understand, but I was thinking of a comparison of the two you posted...

So it's different if the 09 you're looking at is $60k+, then I wouldn't go M5. You can get a fully optioned GT500 brand new for that amount. Or a Grand Sport Corvette...

But the 08 M5 you posted looks quite nice, so maybe go for it instead?

I'd go with the GT500. Consider the M5 the better all-around performance car, but can't help but think of costs for parts and servicing. GT500 probably easier and less costly to modify as well should the need arise.

Quite true, I can do nearly all the work myself on a Stang, wouldn't consider most of the things on the M5.

I would have 125k mike 84 months warranty on the M5. Only factory plus CPO on the cobra

If you put it that way and don't intend to keep the car beyond that, the only way to decide is a test drive comparo and see which one best suits your needs and intended usage.

I did test drive them both and i have both sitting at the dealership waiting for me to sign. For me with 2 kids that are 5 and 6 i think the ///M is the better choice. There are probably around 20 gt500's here and a million GT's so im kinda bored of them. i will post picks of what i get tomorrow. thanks for the inputs.

Side note- For being a musang club, the ///M got alot of love.

The M5 is pretty but the size turns me off.

An 05 ZHP sedan and a slightly higher mileage GT500 could be fun.

****, they depreciate a lot in price, since the new one is over $80,000.

i would get a new GT500 for that kind of coin, but it seems you are set on the M5 so you should just go w/ that. these are two really different cars so in the end get the one you want.

I'm biased Although if you live in a high traffic area, the stock clutch doesn't hold up well on the GT500.

Why not find a G8? That will solve all of your problems. The M5 is ugly. And yeah, I meant to say UGLY. If I were needing a 4 door, a G8 would have to be it for me.
