It's like asking, you want a two door coupe or a four door sedan...
Oh, wait, it is asking that...
Or like asking you want a German sports sedan or the ultimate American Pony Car...
Oh, wait, it is asking that...
Or like asking do you want a wussy Asian minivan or a lightweight British Roadster....
Oh, wait, it isn't asking that...

Thats a pretty significant price difference....36K for a2009 GT500, and theM5usedhas to be in the 65k range. If the price isnt an issue. Then I would find a new or used 2011 GT500. Get more power, lighter weight better handling and still going to be alot cheaper than the M5. But you areon a Mustang site so everyone is basically going to say GT500. But it is comparing a high end sports sedan to a muscle car. WHat areyou looking for? the M5 is going to out perform the 09 Gt500 in most categories for handling. BUt you will be able to get aton for performance upgrades for the cash you save going with the GT500. The fit and finish of the Shelby and the amenities arent going to be close to the BMW.

Yeah, I'd say if the M5 is about this 65k price, get the used GT500 and a new 2011 GT, probably could afford them both, and have the 4 people in the M5 take two cars! Twice the fun!

Here is the gt500
http://www.lafayetteford.com/vehicle...ina-28304-3096
and this is like the M5 im getting with less miles

i know i will not get the best reviews on the bmw but i love both cars. Is a 09 gt500 even worth it? with the new one out? i have been out of the mustang scene for a bit. thank you

ok... the interior of that M5 is HOT.
The GT500 has nav, and possible more mods than just that shifter.
out of those two particular cars.. I would choose the M5.. but if it were a 2011 GT500... it would be a different story.
I would say if you're looking to spend that kind of coin... Get a NEW GT500. More power, more options, 0 miles, more refined, less weight, and it will look new for a longer period of time. You may find that it would satisfy your want for luxury with power.

I gotta go with the M5, too. But like said above, for that coin (unless you have a deal working), a 2011 GT500 would make it a tough choice. Much nicer interior there.
$12k would buy alot of mods for that GT500, though, but not make it any quieter, nicer to drive, etc, and the M5 already has that, and the horsepower.
Look at that M5 mileage, I thought mine was bad...
