My GT vs 370z..who wins?
My sister's bf just got a 2010 370z and I've been doing some research but since I'm a little modded, wondering if it'll be different. Basically I'm running airaid cai with 87 hybrid tune. I haven't dynoed but I'm thinking I'm between 315-320 hp(to the crank) and 330-340 torque? I don't know, just guessing based on AMs claims of adding cai with tune. I know the Z is 332 hp and 270 torque.
So, we're around same hp but I'm definitely putting out more torque. Though he's a couple hundred pounds lighter. What do you guys think? I'm thinking I could pull him from a dig but not sure on like a 40 roll. Just curious cause I have another friend with a 370z as well so I'd like to have some insight from you guys.

yeah I have been wanting to go the track, maybe I'll ask him.
But I was more basing this on stats given and theoretically, who would win lol You guys know how everyone talks on specs and types of car and who they think would win without actually racing. I know there is a lot more to it than specs but there's a lot of knowledge around here, so I figured someone would have an idea. I just didn't want to go talking trash that I could win if I wasn't sure. I think we all know what car sounds better though

No - I was referring to post #5.
I think your summary in the OP was correct. They say torque wins races, and you should have the jump off the line IMO, but that lighter weight is going to help him further down the lane as you cross the traps.

There is a difference between the numbers on the paper and the actual feel of the car. I wouldn't buy a 370 because even in the Nismo edition they just don't feel worth that much money. Bolt-on mods for the VQ don't exactly create gobs of power without tuning or forced induction and those routes are expensive.

I know the Mustang is heavy. However, when you look at the size of the 370 it is quite heavy. Ever driven one? I have been behind the wheel of plenty. They feel heavy, and under heavy braking they nose dive(even with that Nismo suspension) and become a little unstable.

Except the fact it handles a lot better than any mustang from 2005. As for feeling heavy they range from 3100-3300 depending on transmission and if it's a convertible. In the end the OP asked if he would win or not and if you look at the numbers that those people got, just look what model they had and if it's the same one you are going against that's about what your comp will be. Though note that the top of the list are all stock 100% no new tires or anything.

Yea it's a cool car and all I just don't think it's work the 35k my buddy just bought one for. Haven't driven it yet but I'd like too. It's his second 370. The first one didn't have posi. It rev matches automatically when he downshifts which is pretty cool I guess. I'd still rather have a mustang.

For whatever reason I always relate the vehicle in question to what a newer used gt500 is going for lol. If you can go faster for the same money then that's what you shoulda bought lol. He could have bought a low mileage cobra and had 200 more hp for the same $$$. That's just me lol
