On our way from a Tsunami charity event...

Sitting at a light, and this white 04 Cobra pulls up next to us. I check it out, nice ride. He checks us out... and revs. I look over at hubby and say, "Hunny, the snake wants to play." hubby says, "Oh?? He does, huh" More hissing for the snake, and hubby nods to him.

Light goes green, we get the jump off the light. Half a car length ahead, we hit 2nd. Pull ahead completely, and jump 3rd. He is in our rearview. We see some cars coming up, downshift, hit the brakes. We meet up at a stop sign. I roll down my window, and say, "Sweet" and throw a hang ten at him. He looks, smiles, and says, "Lets go one more time". Hubby says, "ok". We wait for the street to be empty, and blow off the line. Much the same as last time, cept I heard the Cobra bogging out... dont know what thats about. This time no slowing for traffic, we got to the light a full 2 seconds before he did.

We round a corner, he goes right, hubby has to go left. We honk and wave, then I ask, "What year is that?" He says, "04", I ask, "mods?" He says, "some". I then invite him to check out TMS. dont know if he will, or if he will remember the events as I described, but, I can tell you, hubby was darn proud to have smoked a Cobra, twice.

I was darn proud of my girl! She can really move well!

Oh, I know I am going to get a shame for street racing, we make sure we do it on streets that are notorious for being deserted, and we NEVER EVER race through traffic. As soon as we see any hint of a car, its done. My baby got beat because we slowed down and stopped racing due to cars being on the street, the guy we were racing blew through the traffic.

 

Obviously that guy didn't know how to drive his car.

No joke, when he pulled up the first time, my husband said to me, "babe, that guy will eat this car for lunch. I love your car, dont get me wrong, but sweetie thats a Cobra". When the Cobra wanted to play, we decided why not see how bad we get taken. Much to our surprise, we took him.

 

That wasn't really my intentions. Here's a new bubble. B)

Something fishy with the Cobra for sure...maybe it was a clone? No supercharger....either way it was cool...I woulda told about it too! LOL Good job JR and hubby!

Are you people listening....Quit modding your car and spend the money on driving instruction at your local track/strip!!! This was a GREAT kill by an 05 driver against a so-called superior Cobra. Stories like this are common amongst the skilled track drivers I talk to. Really great drivers will make you look stupid if their car is , at least, close in performance...and absolutely spank you if their car is even with the performance of your car! Best mod bang-4-the-buck=driving lessons :worship: . Good job Jessica's husband

 

Man, I sure hope when a cobra pulls up to race me that he has no idea on how to drive as well.

I do want to take her to a track and get some track time. My mom used to race stocks, I know she'd be stoked to go to the track with me and my baby.

yeah...jess....especially in our area...there are alot of fake cobras. Either way....you kicked his rear end.

It didnt SOUND stock... But, then again, a little exhaust mod can fix that.

Well, all in all, still pretty stoked, even if it was a poser in a Stock GT.

Kluski, he had his girl with him too. LOL so, we were one for one on the weight thing. I think he asked to go the second time because she was in it with him.

03 cobras arent invincible. It is possible for a stock 05 to take one, heck its possible for a 99+ GT's to take one. Alot of people who have the money to buy a cobra think they can drive, yet really dont have a clue. Same goes to vette's and vipers. Seen it at many track days. They either bog them seriously off the line or blow the tires off.

Key thing is, Drivers make all the difference in the world. Good Kill by JR's hubby. I want to run one sometime and see how I fair.
