Anyone seen the latest Autoweek? They pit the 05 Mustang against the 05 GTO. Mustang wins!!! Here's the last paragraph:
"Overall the Musang backs up its looks with a handling performance that puts to shame the GTO's. Any minor shortfall at the strip was worth how brightly the Mustang took on the cones. Sound the bell, it's no contest: The winner is the Mustang GT."

Yeah, seriously. We all know the GT is better.

 

I posted the guts of the comparison in one of the other 10 threads on this topic.

 

I’m pretty sure that’s obvious otherwise this would be called the GTO source.

Yeah the magazines need to mix it up a bit. What about a 350z vs GT article. Or Mach1 vs new GT?

Well the 05 GTO is faster hands down. Handling and Price is a different story.

 

Motor trend got a manual GT to run a 13.5 sec. 1/4 mile at something like 103mph. so that 14 second 1/4 mile is weak. You know that private owners are going to beat that Motor trend number too, so the Autoweek number is bad IMO

That said the 400hp GTO is faster in a straight line.

I did mean that particular 05" was off the pace. My auto did a 5.35 stock when I timed it. On one of these boards there is a guy turning 13.2 stock. That's almost a second. Was it the day, the car, or driver?

 

Likely the driver as Automobile only got a very low 14 out of their GT when comparing it to a WRX as well.

 

If I'm not mistaken, the '05 Goat is 30k+ with 400hp and IRS.
