The solstice just seems t0o impractical. It's slow, and only has two seats. Air Conditioning is an option and i don't particularly care for some of its styling.

I'm sure you could toss around the Solstice much moreso than the V6.

It looks like a Pontiac Miata to me tho. Yeah, stylish, but not a lot of power, only two seats.

I went with the Solstice just because of the looks. Yea, it's impractical, kinda slow, and a pontiac, but I really like what it is... a straight out roadster. The looks are awesome. You ask people how much they think the car costs, and most would say $35K plus. Just wait til the Saturn Sky is released.

Of course, if I was in a market for a 20K car, I would go with the Mustang, because of the practicality, speed, looks, and it being a Mustang (the overall package)

Oh, and: http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index.php?sh...241&hl=solstice

i said mustang, just because i really like mustangs lol

and plus, if i really wanted a 2 seat roadster, i'd spring for a Miata. i like miatas oh man, wouldnt it be great to feel the wind in ur hair? actually, screw your hair, what about mine? picture THAT on the freeway lol!

but on the other hand, i really do think the solstice is a nice car and same with the sky, albeit a bit moreso

I got to really check one out last week (I work at Pontiac GMC Truck)
I was surprised how cheap it is in real life compared to how well built it may look in the pictures. The car felt like a disposable car. It basically feels it's price, if not less weren't it for it's spiffy looks.
I don't see this car have any competition to the Mustang V6, especially if the shopper checks both cars out well. (check the materials out under the hood, and touch it. You feel like you are going to break it by very slightly leaning over it)
They could have very well used plastic bags for their fender wells. They are that flimsy literally.

When I saw it I was looking forward to be awed, but I was only dissapointed.

When I first saw it at a dealer, I was waiting to see a small block v8 b/c of how long the hood was. I opened it up, and was amazed about all the wasted space. There's at least 3feet of total space that could've been used in a better way. They should throw the batery in the back, so it'll have an even smaller trunk. When you sit in it, it feels as if you're sitting on the ground. To your right, there lies the tranny, or so it seems. The right arm rest is so huge that your tranny and drivetrain could easily fit.

I chose the mustang simply b/c it's a much better car. Solstice has 1 advantage, weight. The car is so light I could probably put up the back end...

You can lift a 2800 lbs car!

Its actually a pretty heavy car for a roadster... the new Miata is 400lbs lighter then the Solstice.

I saw one on the road and i think they are ugly in person...really bulky and stubby. I don't like it.

Mustang would be my choice.

The people at my work don't like it if that says anything. I'll have to make sure to tell them, the Solstice or my Mustang.

It would be a pretty good car, just too underdelivered IMO

the solstice is nice, but i think the sky looks so much better. i never would have expected saturn to release such an aggressive looking car...for GM's sake, they had better hope customers love it too.

I think it's a good looking car. It looks bigger than I thought it would, much wider than a Miata. I like the way the rear deck forums up to the head rests. Still, too slow for my tastes, need mo powa.

I personally would take the solstice over the v6 mustang but would take a gt gt mustang over either (even though the gt is very similar looking to the v6)

the solstice looked pretty nice to me when I saw it in person, maybe my standards are lower than some of you guys though

Why is this even being debated, or asked? They're two different types of cars. That's almost like asking, "what's better an Explorer or a Celica?" Seriously if I was in the market for a roadster I would buy the solstice, if I was looking for a 2 door with some pep and nice styling and practicality in mind I would get the mustang.

Apples and Oranges-- But the Miata is a much better handling car and that is what a medium hp roadster is alll about.
