Mustang GT vs Ford Lightning

So theres this guy that has a 2003 Lightning and wants to bet 1000dlls vs my Mustang GT 2008,only mods are CAI and straight pipe w/exhaust cuttouts and a custom tune and 4.1 gears and the only thing he has changed is a smaller pulley,2.6" , so should I go for it?

Hell No! Sounds like this guys is trying to pay the rent with your money. $100 is race money tops. A grand is heavy hitter street money. That dude will take you money for sure. I've seen some serious cash swapped on street races. I doubt if you're gonna touch a lightning in you ride anyways.

Yeah, on the hottest day you can after a really long drive, if he's only got a 2.6" pulley and no other mods, his heat exchanger will be saturated and the computer will pull timing like crazy. BTW, I'm pretty sure he has a tune as well. I couldn't run the 2.59 err 2.6 pulley on my car without a tune and its more or less a 4v version of the 2v Lightning motor (basically). I dont have anything fancy like VVT.

Since we aren't talking about street racing :wink wink: Dont bother letting him cool down, just go right to the staging lanes.

The kind where some sucker gets his money taken.

If you have to go onto a forum to figure out if you have a chance in a race, you probably shouldn't be racing for money. Just sayin'
