Modded 05GT vs Stock 2010 Track Pack
05 Mods:
Intake, Bama 91 tune, stock from the TB through the cats, exhaust
K-member brace w/ limiters, MGW shifter
20" Bullitt wheels, 255/35 up front and 295/30 out back, Toyo Proxes4
3.55's
2010 Track Pack is stock
I'm pretty sure the TP has 3.73's
How close is it going to be?

Well, the Track Pack comes w/ 19's.
I forgot to mention my suspension is FRPP springs over stock shocks, and I've removed my front sway bar.
The way I see it is that he'll probably have the advantage hooking which is the biggest factor, hopefully I'll hook well enough to allow my slight HP advantage make up for it.

He's got the better gears(but its really not very noticeable) and less rolling mass to turn. You've got the edge on the power. I think it'll come down to who's got the better driver mod.

The problem is that I've only got 1/4 mi to make up for his advantage in LCA's, gears, and tires. I'd be more confident if we were running to 1/2 mi.
Anyone else running 3.73's know how they work on the 1/4. I'm guessing he'll have some time in 3rd before crossing the line.
We'll find out in just a few hours.

Not much comparison when it comes to traction off the line or in the corners. The Pirelli P-Zero summer performance tires with the track pack will be a night and day difference over the Toyo all-season 20" tires on the '05. The Ford engineer that posted here before his posts all got deleted said the Pirellis were equal to or better than some race compound tires out there. With the same tires it would probably be a drivers race, might be anyways if one of you can manage to modulate the throttle to get the best traction available and the other driver not so much.
I'd rather have the 2010 exterior and interior, but as far as handling and power, until the 5.0 hits the streets, it's all available via mods

Driver executed properly!

Truth is, I didn't do as well as I would've liked, but I did good enough.
6-0 SHUTOUT! 05GT WINS!!!
First time out on these tires and wheels. I'm a little dissapointed because I did better last time. Last time I ran was on stock Pirelli's and 17's with an OR-H. This time was on the 20's w/ my factory H (and cats) back on. I lost only a little bit, I'm not sure whether it's due to the cats or the 20's, probably a slight combo of both. But heck, this was only my 2nd time at a track.
The Results:
05GT-O.C.D. vs Stock Track Pack
13.85 @ 99.41 vs 14.73 @ 93.35
13.86 @ 100.70 vs 13.93 @ 101.79
14.30 @ 102.98 vs 14.34 @ 99.53
13.61 @104.44 vs 15.02 @ 100.21
13.85 @ 105.59 vs 15.01 @ 103.00
13.63 @ 106.16 vs 14.31 @ 100.18
I'd say the driver won this race, not the car. You should have seen if the driver of the '10 would have been willing to switch cars for a couple of passes. I'd venture a guess you would have beaten him driving his own car. How much experience did the other driver have? What your 60' times vs his?

Anywho, I'll copy/paste and update w/ 60' times.

I was really fighting for traction on a few of these. One time (my slowest run), I let completely out of the throttle to get out of the tire spin.
2.10 13.85 @ 99.41 vs 14.73 @ 93.35 2.51
2.13 13.86 @ 100.70 vs 13.93 @ 101.79 2.17
2.49 14.30 @ 102.98 vs 14.34 @ 99.53 2.34
2.15 13.61 @ 104.44 vs 15.02 @ 100.21 2.53
2.24 13.85 @ 105.59 vs 15.01 @ 103.00 3.22
2.13 13.63 @ 106.16 vs 14.31 @ 100.18 2.25
So on this day I guess I was the better driver, the truth is I think it's more of a combo and a little luck.
