The slang use of "kill" as a term for one vehicle beating another in a contest has been around for years, used on the net/street/track. It's a generic term, and has nothing to do with bustin' a cap in someone, taxes, or anything to do with mortality. It is no worse than saying "killed a bottle of vodka" or "Congress killed the bill".

So use it all you want.

Hmmm...doesn't that term have some origin from the WW II fighter planes? A "kill" referred to shooting down an enemy plane and they used to put notches on their planes to keep track.

I had a run in with a Lexus earlier tonight. I think it was a GS 300 but not quite sure. Pulled up to a light and wasn't planning on racing but when the light turned green he took off and I was in a right lane that was ending a little ways ahead. He got me on the start because I wasn't planning on him stomping it but once I hit second passed him and saw him in the rearview mirror. I slowed down and waited for him to pull back up beside me but for some reason he wouldn't pull beside me again.

I had a friendly little face off on a two-lane one way road with no side streets or houses with an older GT (an '87 or thereabout). Got in front of him and was able to pull away from him until we both had to brake for a red light. He leaned over and said "Nice run, I didn't really think I was going to beat a new GT anyway". I took pity and kept my mouth shut about him just getting clocked by a V6

Hi all,
I thought this would be a good topic. I always see us posting threads with kills on a daily basis (that cause our cars are so fast) any how, I very rarley see any threads of us getting killed in a car .vs. car race and before I countinue this thread, yes I know street racing is illegal, but when your on the turnpike late at night what the heck. So I'll start off, by the way these kills are what is getting me amped to mod.

1. On the Jersey turnpike very late. I see this hooked up (Jetta/Pasat). I started playing with him and then, he just was running laps around me. I mean even when he got behind me he began to walk me down. Then pulled next to me and just dusted me. I don't know what this guy had but darn. My brother said maybe nitros.

2. A couple a weeks ago, again on the turnpike. I start messing around with this little Subarus. It was silver. I could tell it had some work done to it. It looked like a WTI (or whatever) Anyway we go at it, I get in front of him and he is right on my behind, I mean right there. Zooms past me, so I catch up with him AFTER he slows down and I said while were driving, what the heck you have in there. He said a 4 cyclinder twin turbo and he is pushing 500 horses to the wheels. He then says your messing with the wrong car, all I could do was just laugh.

Ok, next.
You better pray that you dont cross paths with me and my '04 MACH1 on on the parkway, turnpike, ........

It was likely a Subaru WRX STi... they come off the showroom floor with something like 300 horses coming out a a turboed 2.5 liter 4 cyl AWD.

Did it look like this?

Getting that car to really go is supposedly not that hard... I have been trying to make heads or tails of it myself... I want some decent power out of my 02 WRX... but I go to the forums and I easily get confused... maybe muscle cars run in my veins...

Just PM me if you want to know how to get your '02 Rex running quick for little change. I had my '02 WRX Wagon running 13.40's with just a turbo-back exhaust, a mild tune, airbox silencer removed and a K&N air filter.

Lol. This one is funny. You are a better man than I, because I probably would have had to let it slip that I was driving a V6.

Raced a white Evo the other day. We did two tuns...first time, I got him pretty good, by several car lengths. It was from a rolling start of probably 10 mph. The second race he killed me because I spun off the line real badly for about 3-4 seconds. He told me it had 300 hp...I have no idea. I am not very familiar with rice rockets. I will give it this though, it was a quick car.

My latest & toughest so far. E55 sedan. From 90-140 I pulled 1 length. 80K VS 30K. He was shocked.
What body style AMG was it? The new supercharged ones wouldn't even be a race. The last gen E55's were no slouch either, especially up top.
