i have a 2005 GT with a saleen supercharger and flowmasters. My buddy came down for thanksgiving and we ran up at local road. Funny thing is it the same place that we would go at 1:00am when we where in high school. well now years later we where up there at 8:30pm. Funny now I'm an old fart at 26. Anyway two runs for me and two losses. I had a lot of tire spin in first and never had a chance. My second run was much better only half a car behind when I hit third and than he keeped pulling away and away.
So i turned the keys over to my other friend who is a much better laucher than myself. He faired much better. 1st and 2nd and half way through third he was even but than the ZO6 power and 6 speed took over. I had no chance.

His car is 100% stock down to the air filter.
Mine is saleen superchargered with flowmasters and a 200lbs of subs and amps. Also 20" forged wheels don't help much(but they look good!)

Mine take on the whole things is holy crap thats a fast car, but my car is a Mustang and thats just in my blood. Call me a wish full thinker but if i ditch the sound system and add 600lbs to his car I would have a chance. Seeing that his curb weight is 3100 ish and my clocks in at 3900 ish.
Oh well this will just speed up mine urge to finally purchase the 95mm Tunable Induction in last 5.0 mag and a Xcal2 to go along with the 04'cobra injector I bought of ebay last month.
Than I can start with my New years resolution of no more car parts

The Z06 will give a Ford GT a severly hard time, certainly no need for the your 'stang to be embarrassed.

An '07 ZO6 will give a GT a hard time but an '02 won't. :nono:

My roommate just got a 98 Corvette and my 05 Mustang GT beats him all day. His is stock with the LS1 5.4 litre 340 hp engine. Mine has Diablo 93 tune/C&L CAI/Magnapack exhaust. Also those Corvettes are quiet!

Is it me or should an '05 with a blower etc be able to stomp an '02 Z06??

Something just isn't adding up here.

He typed 5.4 - a common enough engine size and a simple mistake - instead of 5.7. Give it a rest.
The least you could do is correct him, as I just did.

20inch rims really slow a car down and with the added weight. If you had stock wheels and no amps and subs you probably would beat him with all your mods..Now a stock gt against an 02 Z06..the Z06 would waste the gt.

Or it should have been real close every time. The Vette is 405hp.

well an 02' ZO6 dynos in at around 354 hp(rear wheel). Mine dynos in at 362hp. Im not sure what his rear wheel tq was but mine is 360ish. He is hauling 3100 lbs dry and Im hauling 3700 plus my two fosgate subs in a heafty box.

all in all I just want to know what a compare what I'm competitive to on the streets. I'm sure that if I pull up on a stock C5 or C5 Zo6 on the stock and "hang" the way I did he would be pooing in his pants. Or at the very least looking for a custum chip of cold air.

anyway it was one heck of a reunion.

Well it sounds like you are trying to make up an excuse to why you lost to the z06.
Your car with the sc on it should be a great car but with all the extra weight you have in it and the 20 on it you will have a very hard time ever beating a z06 on the street but it sounds like you did a good job of staying close but my guess he is not a very good driver because with the same hp and tq. the z06 should of run off and left you in his dust because of all the extra weight you have in your car.

Those aren't really excuses its the truth.

The reason he lost was equal hp but lots of extra weight.

Time to keep modding!

Aerodynamics aren't helping the Stang either. A .28 to .29 for the ZO6, and I can only imagine what the Mustang's is with the square front end. Wow, 800 #'s is a lot to over come. That is over a half a second. A reasonable race, but I'm not suprised at the results.
