A few racing stories

I have had my car for a few months now and have been dieing to get into some good races. Well it happened this weekend and there were quite a few. Ok here they go.
First one was with a 300 C hemi AWD. It was stoplight to stoplight, He looked over with his friend in the passanger seat egging him on. I looked over, and it was on. We both hit it, 20 comes in a wink of an eye and he had half a car(probably due to the awd, i spun a bit) by 30 it was even, 60 comes he is about 4 cars behind, i shut down at 80 and was about 8-9 cars ahead, I'm happy.
Second one, well kinda, happened at the same time the guys other friend was ridding in a lincoln ls v8 he was racing too but it wasn't even a race he was bus lengths behind and does the ricer fly by, it took him a good 20 secs to cathc up the me and his friend.
Third one was with a neon sussposidly srt-4 but i believe it wasn't the ricer just put the badges on, I could tell because i didnt see an intercooler in my rear view mirror and by the way i beat him down. This one from a 65 mph roll on the high way. I'm just cruising and he flys by cuts me off and slams on the brakes. LOL. Then he gets beside me and gives me the 3 honks routine. I get on it i shut down at 130 he is about a 1/4 mile behind me, he is P O'ed so he swerves across 3 lanes of traffic and gets off at the exit just to avoid me.
Fourth one was a hemi charger, he was only rwd, and same effect as the 300 C, but this was from a 30 mph roll.
Last but not least, and my only loss of the group was with the mighty ls2 GTO. It was late and I was going home at about 70. I notice a car coming up quick by me, i check my speed thinking it's a cop, nope it cant be i doing the limit. He gets beside me and slows down i start to laugh thinking it was a caviler, no joke it was dark and late plus i have tint, i roll down my window to see the shiny gto badge. Ok it business time i shut off the music, turn off the a/c. I look over, so does he we both hit it at the same time i got a slight jump because i think the guy have to downshift, after that watch out i hear his engine roar, by 90 he's 3 carsahead by 120 it is like 9, i shut off at 130 he must have been going about 150. Not to be a sore sport he and i both slow down to like 65, i roll my window back down and give him a big thumbs up he smiles and does the same.

keep in mind all these happened with in 2 days lol. I am please with the car greatly, but man i was really humbled by the top end power of thoese ls2 gtos. respect them guys cause they will beat you stock for stock everytime.

So any way, does anyone know what it would take to beat a gto at least up to 135mph. I guessing gears, CAI, and tune wouldnt be enough would it? Or would i neeed a 75 shot ot nitrous.

yeah...i had a GTO come up from behind on the expressway, he was slowly pulling me in despite me throwing down the hammer...and that was with a CAI/tune------those have 400+ HP so it will take more then a CAI to get even

Excuse me, but i don't think that was called for, I have never called anyone out as an idiot on these forums and I expect to be treated the same. If you dont have anything positive to say don't come in my thread. And to think people actually buy 300hp cars and don't race them is just plain ignorant. Were I come from stop light to stop light and roll races, especially at 2 in the morning isn't really frowned upon. Heck in Flint, MI the cops don't even care, they know about it. Also ever hear of Woodward street in MI, thats basically why Detroit Muscle took off. Someone needs to get off their high horse and get a dose of reality

I think it is important to tolerate the negative also.
I also believe that Mike thinks racing on the track (which he does very often) is a lot safer (and legal) than street racing. He has a point.
Many people do race on the street, that's a fact. Racing on the track is safer and legal, that is also a fact.
Let's just be careful out there.

Didnt mean to offend you.You probably are right about your comunity and rural area but, where I come from, close to Boston Ma, there is a no Tolerance Policy to street racing around here.To many fatalitys and sencless deaths.(Mostly Imports) but still I have learned it is not worth the risks. When I am Traveling with my 1 year old son and 9 Months pregnant wife and see some stupid young Brainless Kid crossing over the Center line on a corner comming at me it kinda pisses me off.
Some of you remember last year when we posted the crash in our town were a young pregnant women was killed and her unborn baby also, due to two guys racing were one lost it and jumped the medium and landed in her windshield. You can tell her Husband Its ok to street race.
Ok I am sorry, I am getting carried away. But now you see were i come from. And also a beatifull New England Dragway is only 30 Minutes away.
From me.
Times are differant Now our Insurances are rediculous, cars are faster and young adults think there invincable.............

No offence taken, I can totally see your point with a wife and kid, and I would feel the same too if I was your age. Ya it's not the safest thing to do, I only do it very late at night with hardly any or no traffic around. I'm sorry if I came off as a immature jerk, thats really not what I'm all about.

steet racing stories tend to get a negative reaction here

A sobering thought, in Toronto just 2 days ago a married couple was killed on the night they celebrated their 17th anniversary by 2 idiots racing at over 100MPH in hondas. A 7-year old girl is now orphaned because of them.

Because they are usually posted by someone who hasn't quite matured and grown up yet (regardless of their age).

Stupid f'in jerks... they need to be tried, convicted and executed for murder. And while they are in prison waiting, I hope they become someone's "girlfriend" too.

ok heres the difference.

to me i feel street and highway racing is ok if its done properly. meaning, if there is a block where no other cars/people can get in the way of just the 2 cars racing than that is ok. if it is 3AM on the highway and it is just you and the other car, it is ok. etc. etc.

to sum it up, the way i think it is ok is if the only people in danger are you and the other person racing, because if you do race with someone on the street you both know what you are getting yourselves into.

as it may suck, if something happens while racing, you have to understand you took that risk and played with the devil and thats your outcome.

but, when i start seeing people racing in traffic i shake my head.

just my opinion on the matter

In Texas, if you race and the other guy say loses control and dies, YOU WILL BE charged with manslaughter. I don't think I will have my future decided by an idiot in a Honda with a fart can. You might want to check what would happen to you in your state.

Keep it on the track where it belongs... or is that too tough of a concept for your feeble mind to understand??

Statistically street racing doesn't kill a large amount of people, but the media focuses on it. Just goes to show how people don't know the facts and are persuaded by the media. The police and media should allocate their resources on drunk driving if they cared about public safety.

Regardless of what the media or anyone says...street racing is an accident waiting to happen. When there is enough racing, there's bound to be an accident. See...at the track, they have medical units on hand for when, not if, they have accidents.
Most websites don't even tolerate street racing stories. So, you now know that you shouldn't get offended when someone tells you you're a clown for street racing.
