I'm cruising home on Friday with the windows down and the Skipper cranked when I hear a low throaty rumble coming up on my left rear quarter. I looked in the side mirror but all I could see was a flash of a red sports car. The guy pulls along side of me and throttles it back. He's checks out my car while I'm trying to figure out what he's driving. He fashes me a big smile and the give me a . I return the compliment and then notice the the badging on his car. He's driving a Ferrari Spider 355, and he thinks a torch red 05 GT is . Does it get better than that?

were you guys still rolling or stopped, you should've dropped her and gave him a run for his money, 0-60 he has you beat unless you have your car modded (any light mods would give you the advantage) but in the full 1/4 it would be a drivers race and that thumbs up would change to a look of impressed shock and disgruntledness from him spending so much on his ride and yours being able to handle it.

I had the exact same thing occur only the guy was driving a new 430 Spider and we exchanged some mutual respect. It feels good to get respect from someone could have bought 6 Mustang GT's for the price they bought their car for.

Hey, I'm in East Tennesee, not LA. How many Ferrari's do you think we see around here? Now if it was a mule pulling a flatbed Ford I could not only tell you what year it was, but who owned it.

Yeah. It kind of makes it all worthwhile even if you paid MSRP or over.

We were going about 45-50 mph on a 4 lane mountain highway. Lots of curves and no straight aways. Even with my car lowered, I think he would have eaten me alive on the switchbacks.

well yes but not by much, although the Ferrari was built to handle better, it is an older ferrari and also does not have a lot of power, the area he would get you would be his ability to accelerate faster out of the corners, as for handling the 05 GT handles pretty well and can take those turns right with him but he would take off out of the turn, you catching on the straight aways and back into the turns, it would still show him how impressive the car is though.

There were dealer plates on it, so I'm guessing this guy owns an import car dealership.

I've done some autocrossing in the Gt already, but for that kind of money I didn't think it would be that close of contest. If I see him again I'll give it a shot. I may get spanked. But you're right if I beat him to the top of the mountain I'll sure have something to crow about.

With all the thread's getting moved lately I'm surprised I got to see this one. Good story!
