This Spring, after i take my car out of the garage again (just started to snow...)
i will be looking for a new exhaust sytem, and was wanting some other mustang lovers advice.

i want to have the deep, throaty rumble that my stock gt has ( mine is an 01 auto), *maybe* a tad louder.

i dont want anything tht makes the inteior louder than it already is. altohough i enjoy the noise it makes now, i dont know if i would enjoy having it too much louder than it already is on both the inside and outside. well, outside I don't care too much, but the inside, well.. I like to be able to talk without yelling alot.

i would like to avoid having anything welded onto the car.

something that is going to last, no rusting.

i would also like to avoid having to recalibrate any sensors, or add any chips if at all possible. It is a used gt with a warranty on the motor, and I am not to sure any mods like those would void the warranty or not.

basically, i just want an exhaust systme that sounds a bit meaner than the stock, but not any popping or cracking noises, just a smmoth growl until you hit the pedal and gives me extra horsepower.
choices or options?

looking for something in the 3-500.00 range. thanks guys!

after that, i am going for the gears.

George, maybe a stinger is a bit too loud for him, what about standard Borlas?

MAC is probably too loud as well.

Steve: It does not get loud on low RPMs. It is a thick rumble. When idling it is as quiet as a mouse. It is loud when shifting at 4 - 5K RPMS, but it is pleasantly noticeable when crusing at 2K. That's what's good about it.

George, you need to get some sound clips of the system. (get doug to do it )

I am definitley going the Borla route once I get my '05. I for some reason want to be considerate of the neighbours when coming home at 4am. Hopefully a stinger system will be offered on the '05

Just shut the car off coming into the street,
but make sure you have enough speed to get to the driveway

HAHAHA!! Guys, we really need sound clips........heck, we need Borla to release the friggen system.

Steeda sells their axle back for $592 Canadian on the www.steeda.ca site. Hopefully the borla isn't too much more.

Also, I really don't think the actual sound "quality" is bad with the stocks. IMO, if you change the exhaust it will mainly be to turn the volume "up".

Question: do the stock mufflers have a larger influence on that great sound or is it more engine/cam/etc. related? Hate to lose any of the nice notes the stock system produces. Magnaflow seems to dull some of the notes from the video I've heard.
