camaro and challanger topic
Ok, I might be the only one that notice this. The camaro and challanger look the same. Why do the sides of the car almost have the same kind of hip and the front and rear ends both have almost have matching bumbers. is it that chevrolet and dodge both ran out of ideas. Their both are really fat *** cars that will be beat by a 4.6 GT with only 300 hp. Lmao The mustang gots a great look and from far distance dosent look like a car from hotwheels. I mean heck 4.6 can run 13s easy.
If you have anything to say just say i like to hear what you guys think.

cha we def need to get this topic rollin but at least the mustangs hips dosent curve up at a sudden but in a straight line you know? the hips on the camaro and the challanger both have a curve up kind as you can see.

I think they look the same because the muscle car-era body styles they're based on looked the same. Specifically, the Challenger is based on its '70 body style. The Camaro is based on its '68-'69 body. And both styles are really just a tribute to the original short-deck, long hood Mustang of 1964 1/2.
Personally, I always liked the 'Cuda better than the Challenger, and I think the best-looking Camaro in 1968 was actually the Pontiac Firebird (the 1970 split-bumper Camaro remains the greatest-looking real Camaro, in my opinion). But I digress...
I like all of the new cars, but I'd still pick my Mustang first. There is just no substitute for the original. Was then. Is now.

no not the point im getting at the challanger and camaro look the same as in each other. I liked the old 69 camaro and the 70 challanger they dont look like their old counter parts like the mustang did. in the new camaro and challanger both look the same beside some of the grills and headlights and taillights

I get where you're coming from and you're right -- the new cars look a lot alike. Many of the same styling cues. Like I said, I would have preferred that Chevy reincarnate the 1970 Camaro -- then we would have had three very distinct (and great-looking) modern styles.

yea its true but out of all three the mustang does not have the features the new challanger and camaro share. the new chevy and dodge both have big fat bodys almost identical body structure but the mustang shares its own body type short and aggressive looking and its own unique kind of performance not shared from the other two. like for the mustang it still has the huge bar rear end while the new camaro has an irs. i think the challanger is getting irs but still the mustang will eat it up on the track

I think looks are a matter of personal opinion. I like all three in a way I still rate the Mustang my favorite with the Challenger second and the Camaro third. As far as performance goes I think the Camaro is gonna leave both in the dust. I understand that Ford has a future 5.0 with 400HP and Dodge has the 370 HEMI but, GM already has a 430HP 6.2 and 505HP 7.0 and don't forget about the 630HP ZR1 motor! I'm not a GM guy but I bet that all three of these motors will see there way into a Camaro.
The Mustang will probably be mid pack in performance, yet will undercut both the Camaro and Challenger by a wide margin. So while baby boomers will likley buy a bunch of these new muslce cars over the first couple years of production, the Mustang will still be the top seller but at smaller numbers than before. I'm hoping that with some true competition that Ford dealers will stop raping consumers on SE cars like the GT500 and Bullitt (cost them a sale on a GT500 last summer).

Looks are subjective, but you are dead wrong to assume our 300hp GT's are going to beat the 6.1 Challenger. That's already been proven with the 5-spped auto 3.06 geared Challengers.
I have owned two Magnums, and in my opinion, they have been of notably higher quality than my GT. I'm really on the fense about buying a Challenger, it's purely a matter of dollars and cents right now. I have a ton invested in my GT.

I never said that a 300HP GT will beat the Challenger. I think that was Boss429. I'm assuming that the new 5.0 in 10' or 11' will have 400, but I agree until the new 5.0 comes out the GT will get spanked by both the Challenger and Camaro. Heck the current Charger/ Magnum/300C and Pontiac G8 GT will run with a Mustang GT never mind the Challenger and Camaro!

http://www.egmcartech.com/2008/05/08...stang-bullitt/
and then they start doging it out but still i think they shouldent compare it to a gt 500 cause in all ways its nicer than the dodge challanger
