Bullet vs challanger
http://www.egmcartech.com/2008/05/08...stang-bullitt/
pretty sad if you ask me
bullet got beat only half a second to a dodge challager with 425hp and 400 torq and the mustang only has 315 hp and 300 torq i think
not impressed and shows you how slow a challanger is compared to a bullet mustang

I have seen some drivers run in the 13.2's - 13.5's with a stock Bullitt, why is edmunds onldy getting a 13.7. I still feel the mustang is better out the same tires on the Mustang and it would perform better than the Challenger. Also imagine what u could do to the Mustang with the 5400 u save by buying it.

yea you can make that bullet up to 350 without spending that much money on it and go out and stomp a challanger. I see no prob with a 315 hp mustang getting half a sec by a car with more torq and hp. but the weight of the car does effect it but not by much

What do you think a person would have to do to get 350 Hp without much money? I love my bullitt , but I do miss my 375 hp 2007 Mustang GT That I spent way to much money into!

An Gary you can buy alot of cheap performance like maybe a supercharger that less than 5 000 or just get some new headers and new flow master r sumthing it add you about 25 hp maybe and if it does you got 345 hp

I'll totally disagree with you on your "Challenger is slow" opinion. It has run published basement 13's, and in the hands of better drivers, and good track conditions, some will probably see high 12's. A .5 second 5mph difference in the 1/4 mile is very significant. That's about 4-5 car lengths.
I love my GT, but let's be honest. The Challenger will pull the paint off a stock GT. To say nothing of the 09 Challengers with the available 6-speed and 3.90 option, which will be faster than the '08 auto, 3.06 geared Challengers.

of couse it be faster but not much faster than the bullet half a second isnt very much. now when the 2010 mustang arrives and if it has a 5.0 we know thier be a diffrent story

1/2 a second might as well be warp drive in terms of getting down the track, besides a low 13 second - high 12 second car is seriously fast (we as enthusiasts have simply become jaded in this regard, you talking a full 2-3 seconds faster than your average box on 4 wheels).

It's the first year, and a small production run at that. The 09's with the manual and 3.91's will be quicker. Meantime I don't think basement 13's are anything to be dissapointed in.

Nice find...even though this is a poor comparison. The real comparison is between the SRT8 and the GT500 because they are similar prices and the top models for each company; there is no competion between those too.
The bullit and GT are better compared to the R/T. It is kinda sad for Dodge that folks are comparing mid-level mustangs to the top of the line Challenger but we will take it.
