Auto or Stick?

I went with the auto for a number of reasons. First, it's not made in China and doesn't have reliability issues. Second, it's faster, although I like the control of a manual. Third, I'm not an accomplished manual driver and my wife has never driven a manual so she couldn't drive the car. (Wait...maybe that second part is plus.) Finally, I'm in the Los Angeles area so traffic is omnipresent. Ideally, I'd like a SMG or at least a paddleshift automatic transmission.

Yea not all trannys that come from China were defective. Just a certain batch made during one cycle. And all were repaired under warranty and now have no issues. Yes automatics hvnt been having this problem but with the majority of manuals being good to go it doesnt really justify the choice for auto on that reason alone
I could not read threw all of what was posted. For me a Manual makes you feel more part of the car. In a auto all you are doing is pressing a pedal and steering. to me that's not driving. For my wife's car def auto but even for a daily I like the stick. a closing comment: I saw people state that for a daily car go auto, To that I say if its a car that I will spend the majority of time in I want that to be the car that i have a blast in.. Life is short!!
This mustang I'm getting now is going to be stick, my first sports car and my first manual. I learnt to drive stick in a 2012 tucson and it was like a little stiff, not broken in. Then I drove a 98 suzuki sidekick and that was both fun and easy, the clutch was light and everything, plus cars "feel" faster when they're stick.
Long story short, stick for me.
