Just because huh? That makes sense LoL
So long as nothing happens in the coming months I'm gonna be stickin' with the 93, especially with what I'm going to be doing to my car.

Yeah when I get my 05' I'll switch it up and see what difference is and then make my decision. Of course if I do end up getting a supercharger put in it someday, then I'll use the 93'.

I don't have a GT, but I put 93 on my '03 V6 stang. I do get about 10-20 more miles per tank. The gas prices aren't that bad here. This week it was $1.80/galon

If using a higher octane helps you sleep at night

Unless you're running mods (ie. blower etc), save your money and enjoy using regular.

Just my $0.02.

Yep, just because.

I haven't heard anything bad about 89 octane or it making more deposits besides, I use a fuel/injector system cleaner every few thousand miles. Not lately since it's being babysat back in the states. I wouldn't waste the money on premium even if I had it here on the base in Iceland, $1.59 a gallon for premium.

Hmmh... gas types here in Germany are 91/95/98 octane... and about 5$ per gallon for the normal (91 octane) fuel :P and you guys are moaning about paying too much

i've been using 93 octane in my 2001 GT since i've purchased it 3 years ago. Not much logic to it though, i've been told that there are less contaminants in the 93 than 87, is that true? Also, since i've been using 93 for 3 years, would it be safe to down-grade to 87 now or would my baby hate me?

it should be fine to run 87 octane in it. Just listen carefully for any pings or signs of detonation.
