I believe these two are pretty close straightline, not sure which one would edge the other one out though.
The Jetta will most likely eat the V6 Mustang in the corners.
My friend drives a Jetta GLI, and there is a nearby track we can visit to find out as soon as mine breaks in.
Thoughts?

I'm not sure if their is any difference between the 2003 and 2005 GLi's but the 2003 went 0-60 in 7.9 sec.

The 05 Mustang V6 goes 0-60 in 6.8 and does the quarter in 15.1sec and 92.7mph.
Outside of the performance realm, the GLi is one of the least reliable cars

I just found these stats for his 2005 Jetta GLI
Horsepower : 180 hp @ 5500 rpm
Torque : 173 lb-ft @ 1950 rpm
Redline : 6700 rpm
Top speed : 145 mph
0-60 mph : 6.9 sec.(manual), 7.5 sec.(auto)
0-¼ mile : 15.7 sec @ 89.0 mph(manual)
60-0 braking distance : 130 ft.
200 ft skidpad : 0.79 g
Really close to the V6 Mustang right down to the skidpad. Seems the Mustang has a little more top-end though because of the slightly lower 1/4 time & higher trap speed.

You know it, I have pretty low mileage at the moment, so it may be while. It's only at 195 and my goal is to have it at 1000 before I run it for all it's worth.
It may be a few weeks till I reach that, not what i'd like but I can't complain.

Well I raced him, won 2/3.
The car's are pretty even. If I get a good launch I can stay ahead no problem. On the time he won, i didn't have a really good launch. That's basically what determines the winner- the launch
The GT though is so above it isn't worth wasting gas.

Guess what I just realized, not sure if it would've made things more clear (including tastier chirps), I had my AC on at level 2.
I know it'll affect performance, but is it enough to make me look better against him?
I'm gonna see if I can run him again.
