'11-13 5.0 vs. '08-09 Bullitt? Which would you rather have?

I think you're seeing why they won't do a Bullitt anymore IMO. Too many just don't get it. Too young maybe. Ford filled the baby boomer niche that understood the whole SMQ/BLLT/exclusive & unique/cool as hell aspect of this movie tribute Mustang.
The 08/09 Bullitt was the best performing of the initial phase of the retro S197 & 4.6/3V from the factory, and now so many discredit or are clueless as to that. Now ya'll want your computer in dash, heated seats, and twink led headlights and audi-ish crap.

Horsepower-to-horsepower purely, I can see why you would arrive at that conclusion, although of course there are other options in the newer cars that might warrant the extra cash.

It would be a hard choice, by numbers the 5.0 is clearly the better car, but the Bullitt, well, it just has a certain understated and refined classiness that few other Mustangs do and would be my choice. The Bullitt's stylistic cool is the perfect automotive embodyment of Steve McQueen in a black turtleneck.
This man would not drive some school-bus yellow, sticker infected, scooped, spoilered, slatted and yet-a-few-more-stickered Mustang, no matter how fast it was.
I would love to see most of the Boss's mechanicals wrapped up in an understated Bullitt wrappings as an S197 send off for 2014.

Ever watch the "Seven-Ups"? Roy Schieder had a good chase scene in that cop drama.

I think I'm a minority here but I'd say 2011-12 5.0, the Bullitt is cool but to me they are worth more than they should be (like my 2003 Cobra). I never drove a bullitt but I have driven my brother's 2010 GT and I'd take the 5.0 any time.
Part of the reason for me is I love the color but I don't love the look of the Bullitt like others here. I'd rather have a V6 or GT grille with the pony in the grille. Though I like what they did I still see it as a hopped up 2005-09 GT.
I really liked the 2001 Bullitt more to be honest.

You can keep your sync - SMQ could give a crap. The '10 interior does nothing for me over Bullitt and you can keep every single one of those freaking diaper years.
Always liked this member's comparison between GT & Bullitt. He gets it.

The steering wheel, the seats, the instrument cluster, the panel is all different. You start it, much better sound. You put it in gear, much easier and the ball rules. You give it gas and it feels different. The ride feels different. A Bullitt is supposed to be an improved GT, right? Wasn't the GT390 an improved GT back in '68? If that's the case, then don't you think they hit it?

"According to chief engineer Paul Randle, the current Bullitt has been considered the best Mustang ever in many respects thanks to its wonderful balance of handling and power, so it was chosen as the baseline for the new GT."
To each their own. But Bullitt was heads above when it was released. All for $31k. And made Edmunds cover story "Two Coolest Cars in America".

I guess it comes down to all what you like! I like the 07-09 look of my shelby over the 10-12 models! I love my car. The interior is just right for me. Its pretty simple and thats the way i like things. I could sit here and write a book about what i love about my car, but ill tell you what i dont like about it........ Well, i cant think of nothing!! hand built forged motor, awesome tranny!!!! Thats all i need!!
