Just curious, especially if anyone has owned or driven both cars. Obviously the 5.0 is faster, but the Bullitt just has a cool factor that almost no Mustang can match. What do you guys think? Which one would you rather have?

I'm not getting rid of my Bullitt! No way!
I look at it this way. Back in the day the 289 was a great engine. Even though the 302 and bigger engines came later, many stuck with the 289 because it ran great and was well balanced for decent handling. So what if you didn't win every drag race. It was what it was.

I will say my 5.0 is haed over heals faster then the Bullit, I test drove a bullit.
I don't mean to hurt feelings but the bullit will look "dime a dozen" to just about any other person on the road, the wheels, blackout, bumper are EASY to come acorss the color I don't think came on anything else, but I don't know.
Long story short, I would(Well I did lol) buy the 5.0 again, make it my own and love it.

I think of it in kind of a weird way. If I had a Bullitt and the 11-13 came out, I would keep it. I love the looks of that car. If I owned neither and picked, I would buy the 11-13, and did just that. I love the Bullitt buy they were selling for too much.
I know if the day comes to sell it the value of the Bullitt will be higher. I have no intent of ever selling my stang, so the value is irrelevant. For me, this small piece of history will always be a part of my family. Owning any mustang, is a dream come true for me.

I've been looking at used Bullitt's and they seem to range from about $21-25K or so and they all have less than 30K miles from the ones I've seen in a 500 mile radius of where I live. I think I might save up some cash for a down payment and trade in my '06 GT for one in the Spring...

I owned a 2008 Bullitt, and it was awesome and definately the coolest ride. I agonized over two years before I finally pulled the trigger and ordered a 2013 track pack GT. As nice as the Bullitt drove, my 2013 is more comfortable, capable and a butt ton faster. I wanted some of the newer interior comfort and electronic features not available on the Bullitt. Lastly, I felt the car would holds value best if unmolested and based on my trade, this was true. Both are goodcars, the Bullitt has aserious cool factor, but I am happy I made the choice.

2016 Bullitt - If they do a next gen Bullitt, I hope its certainly more than a gussied up Brembo pack GT.
Anyways, tough choice? I really wish I could get some seat decent seat time in a Bullitt to analyze the handling.
My 07 GT pretty much morphed into an SGT and I think if Shelby would have gone the extra step and fitted the car with a great summer tire it would have been the best handling car in the 05-07 run.
As it stands, despite that big lunk of an engine in the GT500 as a purely stock car it gets the nod as the car that can put up the best handling numbers but I think in overall feel it loses out to the SGT and most likely the Bullitt
So I've always wondered how the Bullitt stacked up?
Hmmm... the parental unit's Mustang is coming up on strut/shock replacement time, I might go and see if I can clone the Bullitt suspension just to get a feel for it.

What's the Bullit? Wheels, wingless, blackout panel, diffuser, grille? Performance, even LESS noticeable is a strut tower brace, intake?
Like I said, I love Bullit but to people outside this forum "it's just a green mustang" I promise. This is why I picked a 5.0, it rides nicer, faster, has better creature comforts and the after market is the same, sorry if this is wrong, but you said it...my opinion.

I continue to get compliments on it regularly - and not as "just another Mustang". Whether its because of the dash, the dark green, the wheels, or the exhaust. Not everyone knows what it is, but everyone wants to know what it is because they haven't seen one before. I have literally come out of stores and had people waiting by it to ask me about it cause they've never seen one before. Some people I know at places I frequent remind me every so often of how cool it is. And there's plenty of Mustang's in these towns I go to for supplies.
As for what it is you can look up the stats. The best HP/TQ of the 4.6 3V's, best handling, best exhaust tone, of the first phase S197 05-09. Without a doubt. Unique items only for Bullitt, GT500 upgrades included from the factory, only 6500ish made. SMQ all over it.
You've got a great Mustang. That 5.0 is a monster.
But me? I'm keeping #901. The 5.0 or the Boss isn't enough to interest me in the least to trade.

I will bring my girlfriend to your house, I'll have her driver her other friends S197 and I promise you, 90% of the people of the road will not look at the Bullit any diffent then a base model V6, just like my 5.0.

Same here! Some people probably look at mine just like any other mustang. But all that matters to me is that when my shift light comes on by my tach it says SVT! And this......
